Fightful Select has learned that 31-year old Flash Morgan Webster's WWE contract was set to expire last month, and that contract negotiations have stalled. As of now, we're told that Webster is working with a short term extension, but that is up very soon as well. Those that we've spoken to claim he rejected their initial renewal offer.

Webster has been out of action since October 2021 with a shoulder injury, and the latest update that we've heard has him set to return to the ring around June.

Webster has been with WWE since 2018, where he debuted at WrestleMania Axxess, and later participated in the 2018 United Kingdom Championship tournament. Since then, he's competed on the NXT UK brand. Along with Mark Andrews, the duo briefly held the NXT Tag Team Championships in 2019. Later, Dani Luna would join the fold to form Subculture.

Would love to see an extensive run with subculture when he returns, but there also hasn’t been a lot of talent injected into NXTUK in a while to make for fresh matchups. Not to mention the lack of takeovers since the pandemic. I can see why he would want to go to freshen things up.

The dude's got guts to reject an offer when he's on a forgotten brand in a company that loves to fire people.

Do you ever stop and wonder why NXT UK Talent largely avoids mass cuts? Think about that and you’ll probably have a good idea why he rejected the offer

If he forgot about NXT UK, he wouldn’t have moved heaven and earth to get Walter to the states. The reason is, because I probably make more at my 9-5 job than the wrestlers for NXT UK do. You could cut the whole brand and it probably wouldn’t even dent the bottom line. So unless it’s a substantial pay bump, Webster can probably make more working the independents on the weekends then he does regularly for NXT UK
