Rohit Raju spoke to Fightful for a new interview and clarified a lot of details about why he left IMPACT Wrestling.

He said that despite the PWInsider report in late 2020, he hadn't signed a multi-year deal, instead he was on a one year deal that expired at the end of 2021. He felt as if his work over the past year had earned him a significant raise. IMPACT Wrestling wanted to bring him back and made him an offer, but it wasn't much more than the deal he was already on, so the two sides decided to amicably part ways. Raju said that he's open to returning if the offer is better. He also mentioned that he has a good relationship with IMPACT Wrestling and Scott D'Amore, who is allowing him to use the Rohit Raju name.

Raju said that QT Marshall contacted him and said Tony Khan wanted to bring him in for a series of AEW Dark tapings, and that he was treated very well there. He noted that he was flown in for the show and is slated to work more dates in the future.

Regarding the IMPACT X-Division Title, he found out a few days before he was set to travel in, and was surprised that he was getting the title based on his booking path prior to that.
