Vince McMahon's reasoning for splitting and reuniting New Day (Patreon)

New Day is back together...kind of

New Day member Big E has been moved to WWE Smackdown to rejoin his New Day teammates. In an interesting note, we're told that Vince McMahon was adamant that Kofi Kingston and Big E not be referred to as "New Day," and instead be called "Big E & Kofi Kingston," which was how they were announced Big E's first week back. However, internally and on the company's Youtube, apparently that message didn't get through, as they were listed as New Day on both. However, the following week, that had changed.

Speaking of Vince McMahon being adamant, we're told he was adamant about putting the trio back together because he "missed the magic that they created together." However, we're also told that he had preferred they be split in the previous two drafts, under the idea that a top babyface should be on their own in most situations, referencing Big E. We're told there were numerous pitches were made to keep them together despite that, but it didn't do much good.
