AEW is heading into their third full year as a television company, and we're going to see some contracts coming up -- some set to be renewed, others not.

We mentioned over the past week that Cody Rhodes and had his contract status changed, but he's not the only one.

Fightful spoke to Joey Janela for an interview, after hearing that his deal had been renewed at some point, but he clarified that his deal would be up in May as things stand right now. Janela said during the interview that he enjoys working in All Elite Wrestling and would like to remain with the company. In the past, outside of controversial talent, All Elite Wrestling has allowed contracts to expire in most cases instead of releasing talent before their deals are up.

Janela spoke highly of AEW, and says that he's hoped to bridge the gap between AEW and GCW, and the relationship between the two. Janela takes on Matt Cardona this weekend at The WRLD on GCW.

I love Janela, wish he was used more on AEW tv

Janela has so much value beyond his in ring work, so I totally see him resigning.

Hope they renew and use Joey. His creativity could be a boon in the future, for years to come. AEW will keep my viewership if they continue to have the range of talent they do. Love Joey and GCW ties, love Peter Avalon & The Wingmen; and of course The Elite and Cody. Like... I wouldn't have imagined these people would be on TV together... ever. And that's cool.

Really bummed they didn't re-sign Avalon.

Janela truly loves working there from what I've heard,he doesn't give a shit if he's on dark or if he doesn't have any matches. when he was approached by the bucks to sign his contract he didn't even read it

When did Peter's contract come up? Yesterday Leva replied to a fan on Twitter saying that "Hes still there (AEW), Just adding indie dates." Itd be a huge shame if they didn't re-sign him

He was one I fully expected would be moving on. They sadly are just not able to retain everyone, as they add talent and such, they have to let people walk. I see anywhere between 10-20 contracts being allowed to expire, and perhaps they re-sign on a per show basis from time to time.

Did Chuck Taylor’s deal get renewed?
