Fightful spoke to Lio Rush, who is working this weekend's NJPW show in Seattle. He spoke about how he never expected wrestling to get to the point where he'd be able to work two major companies and high level indies and still have the option to do more. He noted he does need to clear his indie and NJPW dates with AEW, but said there's almost never an issue. Lio credited Rocky Romero for bringing him in to NJPW, and said that it felt good to have someone like Tony Khan recruiting him and letting him know he was wanted in AEW. He spoke of how importance his independence and flexibility has been for his personal peace as well.
He confirmed that he's been working on both the AEW hip hop compilation, as well as his own EP, both of which drop in February.
We spoke to him about the current storyline with Dante Martin, and it seemed like his answer was largely in kayfabe as he said that he doesn't speak with Darius Martin or know a timetable as to when he'll be back.
