Katrina Cortez- Katrina was brought up to the WWE main roster in late 2019 to pair with Sin Cara, however, Sin Cara outright told Fightful there were never any real plans for the duo, and it just happened to put over Andrade and Zelina. Shortly after, Sin Cara asked for his release when he was told his character was "dead" and Katrina was sent back to NXT. We were told there were never any major plans for her.

It was stressed to us internally that the reboots of Keith "Bearcat" Lee and Karrion Kross were not their ideas. Also, we were told that WWE had looked at Scarlett as a wrestler on Raw or Smackown but she was quickly "sidelined." There were several that pushed for Scarlett to be a part of the Karrion Kross act, but obviously it never came to fruition. Almost immediately backstage rumors swirled of Kross getting heat within the company, but even then several tried to plead about the direction of his booking and character. There were plans to adjust his character yet again, but most within the company pointed to the booking as the issue, not the characters.

Mia Yim was drafted, not used, and hadn't wrestled at all in 2021. Fightful learned there were several tentative plans to have her on shows before the draft, and she'd quietly changed brands multiple times. However, those plans all ended up getting nixed and never got off the ground.

Just awful. That’s all I can really say. I wanna care about a lot of the wrestlers on their shows but I personally never have a reason or don’t get enough time because they’re gone before they even pick up steam.

I was never the biggest Kross fan, but even I felt bad seeing how he was setup to fail on the main roster once they booked him to lose to Jeff Hardy in a little over 2 minutes. It’s evident that a certain point whoever Triple H made stars of in NXT, Vince would inevitably strip them of everything that made them special on the main roster and doom them to fail.

How the hell do you fuck up Keith Lee? I mean the guy is an agile powerhouse and you can’t do anything with him?!

I could careless about Kross, but his entire run seemed to be an act of sabotage against the man, presumably for daring to date someone perceived to be out of his league

The fact this company calls people up from NXT where they get used regularly and have no plan for them when they get to main is the most maddening thing. It’s not hard. They literally have an entire network at their disposal, unlimited time and they can’t be bothered to at least try something with all these talented people.

Mia Yim was/still is a favorite of mine from Fly High WDSS teaming with Kay Lee Ray (also brilliant), which I thought MAYBE had a chance at reforming. Her great story with Rosemary (another favorite) in their Red vs Blue arc. Her dive off of the top of the cage in the Six Sides of Steel match is still vivid in my mind years later! I wish she had gotten more of a presence in NXT during her tenure.

Its really hard to get invested in anything in the wwe with the way they coducts thier business. Whether it be with storylines or the way they use (or not use) their talent, its llike they have no attention span to see anything through to a conclusion or they just move on to the next thing. There is no payoff to anything and no satisfaction as a viewer to see talent rise through the ranks.

They're all going to be stars elsewhere. WWE is a place where careers go to die.
