Original Plans For AEW Dynamite-Elite Costumes (Patreon)

The main event of AEW Dynamite on October 27 saw plenty of hijinks, but it was actually supposed to happen a different way.

It was revealed on Twitter that the Ghostbusters-esque theme was put together on short notice, which prompted Fightful to inquire how far ahead the Ghostbusters costumes that the Elite were planned. As it turns out, that was also a late call.

Fightful was told by AEW sources that originally, the Elite were to use a Squid Game-inspired entrance and costume. However, word backstage was that WarnerMedia or TNT got wind of the plans, and put a stop to it. One source indicated that they didn't feel as if TNT understood how much of a parody it was planned to be, but there was no heat in relation to it.
