After a year and a half as a free agent, Tessa Blanchard has a landing point.

Fightful has learned that a relaunch of WOW Women of Wrestling will be announced, with a press conference planned Wednesday night. Thus far, the only major talent we've heard of attached to the relaunch is Tessa Blanchard, and another unnamed former WOW talent. Aside from that, we're told a roster is not in place, and that the relaunch won't occur imminently. We have not been told if Blanchard has put pen to paper on a contract, but have been told that's the plan.

We've also learned that the "NGW" teasers that were running are connected to the WOW relaunch, as they are one in the same. LA Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has been attached to to the project as she still technically owns the company.

Fightful reached out to nearly a dozen former WOW talent who had not been clued into the plans, and had not been contacted for the relaunch. Most told Fightful that they haven't heard from WOW creator David McLane since last year when they were e-mailed and asked to not post in regards to controversies of alleged bullying surrounding Blanchard.

The relaunch itself has been known about within women's wrestling circles for months, as several additional names were contacted for the project, but none ended up landing outside of Blanchard.

If WWE or AEW offered her a contract could still sign

Finally she ends up somewhere. I’m hype

Good luck with that.

I knew she was connected to NGW, cuz she was the wrestler in the teaser video whose face they don’t show. Same gear she has in some other photos and you can spot one of her tattoos. Not sure if it’s too smart to build the promotion around her with how controversial a figure she still is. I guess we’ll see how wrestling fans react. One thing is for sure, positive or negative, her involvement will get them attention from the wrestling media. Why change the name from WOW to NGW, though?

It's a WOW relaunch but they don't have a roster and the some of the former WOW wrestlers haven't been contacted about this?

I had missed the tidbit last year (if it was public) that the then-WOW talent had been asked to not comment on the allegations against Blanchard. 🤔 As for the main topic of this article, I'm intrigued enough to keep my eye on this new/relaunched venture, but, if it's too similar to WOW, I'm less likely to actually watch the show.

I actually feel sorry for Tessa at this point.

Dirty Jose

WOW as in "wow I can't believe someone got suckered into paying Tessa Blanchard to draw no fans and kill all hype".

The fact that you think there was one thing she was accused of shows an awful lot of your approach to this

It always seems like WOW tried to rebrand and reinvent itself every so often. From the 80’s to mid 90’s to late 90’s to early/mid 2000’s and beyond. As for Tessa, after all the stuff that came out about her… I lost all interest in her.

So you wanted him to do what? Send you a breakdown of all the shit she has done? Probably figured if you had any interest you would just google it, or look at all the stuff posted on fightful that came from actual people she did said stuff to.

Dear Brian, the answers are readily available and easily searchable. We have a Q&A show where these questions can be asked, and just because you're a customer doesn't mean you're immune from a reasonable response. If you have that much of an issue with it, there are a lot of other great services availble.
