The 90-day non compete is up, and Braun Strowman, now Adam Scherr, is free to sign where he wants. Fightful has learned that there had been talks between Scherr and All Elite Wrestling, but of recent weeks we've actually heard that IMPACT Wrestling is heavily interested in bringing in the former WWE Universal Champion. We've got no details on if a deal is actually in place, but the word backstage at the most recent tapings in Nashville led to talent hearing of the company's interest in Scherr.

Fightful has heard that the push to get Scherr in IMPACT Wrestling has gone on over a month, and that it isn't much of a secret internally. Those within the company believe they're going to land him and will be heading that way soon. Nothing is definite until he appears, but several in IMPACT think he's headed there.

Scherr took part in EC3's Free The Narrative 2 this weekend, as well.

How is impact affording all this talent lol but hey good for them

How was he able to be in the Free the Narrative thing, if his non compete isn’t up yet

I presume since that's a pre-tape, it's more done on the basis of when it airs. If it'd been with a crowd, that's another thing.

I imagine Braun is a big investment, like given that he was main eventing WWE PPVs for the top title not long ago, he's still a pretty big name that would draw some attention to impact.

Braun for Glory as my pal Scott D’Amore would say

That's a good win if they get him.

I don’t want Braun anywhere near AEW. Let him go to impact.

I'm just glad that those people released find a job, no matter where it is.

They could easily do what they did with Good Brothers - who were making almost 750k/yr when they got released - IMPACT signed them, as did new Japan, and between the 2 companies they were right near that 750k mark. They’ve done great for promoting the company and I imagine are helping recruit both Adam and Windham to the company.

Anthem does have money, theyve just been pretty frugal about spending it. Plus, this “big new distribution deal” they’re waiting to announce could be pretty HUGE and what’s helping them financially make a play for both guys.

Hell, even if it’s got nothing to do with the big new distribution deal, Scott could’ve sat their execs down and explained that they needed to spend on these guys cus they’re basically the last big name free agents who could help them in a major way with merch, bigger venues, ticket sales, and both PPV and app subs, just like Omega did while he was there

I think impact is a great fit for him plus they'll treat him like a king where as I don't think his style suits AEW and there's bigger signings they've made recently. I can see why impact want him he'll bring a new audience.
