Following up on Fightful's report that Kevin Owens' WWE deal is actually up in January as opposed to 2023 as it was originally, Wrestling Observer provided more details in their weekly newsletter. According to the Observer, the actual date of expiration is January 31, 2022, which Fightful Select has since confirmed. This would mean Owens' deal would expire ahead of one of the pitched dates for the Royal Rumble, which is actually being targeted for early February as of now.

We should clarify, Fightful never reported that any WWE deals were renegotiated at the start of the pandemic, we reported that they were renegotiated ahead of it, meaning before. There was never any indication the pandemic had anything to do with it from our part.

If past dates are any indication, that would be just in time for AEW to ramp up a program for him at Revolution. If they wanted. And if he wanted. Hypothetically.

With all the *fun* to be had, in relation to dealing with WWE on a possibly re-signing; I wouldn't be surprised if we saw them pull out all the stops to keep KO interested in hearing a new deal. Personally, I think Revolution would be the perfect time to end this chapter of the Elite's story; and start up a Mount Rushmore Reunion run.
