In regards to last night's audio snafu during Drew McIntyre's entrance, we were told that it was a production error and part of a Roman Reigns/ John Cena promo package was accidentally played over the spot. It was said that Drew McIntyre personally inquired about it upon hearing the reaction online. Initially, production employees we spoke to were confused as Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal got some of the best reactions of the evening.

So basically they were like “what snafu? I didn’t hear a snafu, you idiots must be hearing things”

Hopefully the blogs/YouTubes/podcasts who gave this so much publicity today will the give the explanation just as much coverage! Not holding my breath…

Am I wrong for thinking this makes no sense? The little production work I've done would make me think it's unlikely to cross those wires. But I wouldn't think they would leave in commentary for there piped in cheers either so who knows.

i didnt watch it but was there a smackdown highlight or package during the show? in which case i could see someone pressing the wrong button at the wrong time, otherwise i dont see crowd sweetening noises coming from a promo video rather than raw crowd audio recording which they should have in the archive from the thunderdome.

that's what this post says

Noted, sorry. Completely missed the first part when I read it. Deleting my post now

I'm gonna foresake any conspiracy theories and just take them at their word. It's impossible to believe that a production crew that well-staffed would be piping in crowd noise from an old broadcast. They would at least want to use isolated crowd noises.

Rincewind

Agreed. We know they have isolated crowd noises available. They're not known for being sloppy with production, under normal circumstances.

Separately, this next Takeover is 36. I can't imagine WWE holding back with crowds, but do you think they would slow them down so that Takeover 38 can line up with WrestleMania 38?
