Talent was told that Wyatt's release was a "budget cut," thought we don't know if that was specifically cited to Wyatt himself. This created a gigantic amount of frustration with the roster, staff, and employees alike, with nearly 20 reaching out to Fightful directly, saying there had to be more to it than that considering that he's a known money-maker.

A consensus was that almost nobody in the company truly believed this was a budget cut, citing Wyatt's popularity, merchandise sales among reasons. Wyatt was well known within the company to move merchandise when he was an active performer, and several other long-time stars said that they don't feel like their jobs are safe any longer, despite of their positions on the card or prior pushes.

Wwe loves killing moral.

Jordan Lassiter

I would be pissed off and worried as well.

Anonymous

Morale in that locker room has gotta be at an incredible low.

Shawn Murray

Probably because he was tired of all his creativity being ruined, and actually spoke up about it….speculation of course

Thomas Middaugh

There's definitely something else to this, feel it's more creative issues they couldn't agree to than those darn budget cuts

Busby

My theory. Bray was standing up for himself and shooting down every pitch Vince/creative had for him. Vinny Mac got fed up of him not paying ball so he fired him.

Anonymous

I think he requested to be released a while ago.. And they released him now so they could say you can't quit you're fired

I’ll say it again nobody is safe in the wwe it doesn’t matter if you are like a big star or not and those talents should be worried

Brian The Dean

Promises, Hell even contracts made in WWE are no longer safe. What happens when you can't trust anyone in the company anymore? I feel for the employees of WWE right now

Jared Searcy

Everybody at WWE is just a line on a spreadsheet. You can count the amount of people who are “safe” on a single hand.

I totally expect Keith Lee, Jeff Hardy, Ziggler and Roode to be "budget cuts" by the end of the year.

Luis Pulido

Alex Pawlowski really put it best last night: "Fuck V**** Mc****n"

Axel M

That's exactly what I thought. They literally opened a spreadsheet and added numbers to see who they needed to fire, regardless of who.

ChaoticMeatball

I've gotten to the point where I just can't stand watching WWE, not just because of the fact that the product is not very enjoyable, but all of the stuff that higher-up management has been doing, such as the deal with Saudi Arabia and the massive amount of "budget-cut" firings. All I can do is support wrestling companies that I believe are doing things as correctly as they can, like ROH or AEW.

Elaquent

At this point, Roman is the only person on the roster that is bulletproof. Everyone else is expendable

Axel M

Sadly, NOBODY is safe. This is frustrating.

What incentive is there for anyone to sign with this company. Long term this kind of stuff is gonna hurt them because the quality of their talent pool will be diminished.

CSDX

I swear, the only people that'd actually fall for that budget cut excuse at this point are the ones that think AEW is a failing company and have said each year for the past 19 years that iMPACT was going to die and/or be bought out by WWE.

I just wanna point out I think its dope that Fightful is where so many WWE stars run to vent their frustrations. Says alot about SRS credibility.

Busby

At this point. Roman could main event WM on Sunday and then get fired on Monday. And on Smackdown they will have a tournament for the vacate title and pretend that nothing even happened. I honestly DO NOT put it past them..

Damian Bushay

Pretty crazy. I’ve been following him since his WINC das when he didn’t have scoops
