Sources indicated to Fightful that although Kross was victorious over Keith Lee this week on an episode of WWE Raw, that wasn't the original plan. Jeff Hardy, who beat Kross last week, was sidelined and caused a significant shift in the Raw booking for Kross. Plans called for Kross to take on Jeff Hardy again on the July 26 episode of Raw, and lose yet again. We weren't told of a specific creative direction following this, but that several members of creative, and even more of the roster were baffled by the idea to beat Kross once, let alone a second straight week.

Set to lose to Hardy but beats Lee instead

So if you think about, having Keith Lee lose made even less sense

Vince being mad NXT conceded Wednesday seems more true every day.

Something tells me Jim Cornette’s theory about this being a Vince idea to have him loss until introducing Scarlet isn’t far off the mark. Only thing I can think of that has some sort of logic to it despite being a terrible idea.

So the NXT Champ gets his win back over the former NXT double champ who just returned to wrestling after 5 months. MAKES SENSE.

This company sucks! lmao

If kross were to lose again in a week again nxt roster would be outrage by that which he didn't but it didn't help Keith Lee either

This kinda shows the creative plans (or lack of) for Keith lee. Doesn’t bode well for either talent in Kross or Lee, they earned a better showcase then this. Seems like their is no creative direction for either

I need to save all of these reports from different websites. That way I’ll have something to reflect back on in six months when Kross is near the top of the card on Raw or SD and nobody is talking about him losing to Jeff Hardy on a random episode of Raw in July

I've never claimed to understand WWE booking but this seems strange even for them

Brian Bayless

Sounded like we missed some truly riveting television here. Although the people defending that would have been slightly amusing to see

Jose Bautista

I just screenshotted this comment. So hope you're right, bud. Also this specific report is only reporting that he was scheduled to lose again. There's no opinion written on here saying that it's a bad thing to do. Just reports my dude.

“Sources” I’m not buying this at all it’s probably the boys workin the sheets

Just..wow

I feel like Monday Night Raw is just this bizarro world

I read somewhere that Jeff got covid, if it’s true, is that why plans changed?

It's not about making stars. It's about sending a message

Anonymous

Yeah and we should send a message to Vince and NOT support garbage booking.

Sean Mullan

I wonder what excuse all the "wait and see how it plays out" people would have came up with for that.

Is it possible their ' plan' is too have him lose a few times alone with generic entrance to then bring in Scarlett as a big deal and give his proper entrance etc and go on an undefeated streak??? Hey i didnt say it was a good plan but thats the only reason that i can think of too take his entrance, valet AND plan to have him lose his first couple of matches on Raw
