As the Pinnacle vs. Inner Circle feud rolls on, a highly anticipated match between FTR and Santana and Ortiz is taking place next. Fightful has learned that this specific matchup has been slated and on the billing for the Charlotte Dynamite since at least mid-May, highlighting the long-term planning of a lot of AEW's booking. Fightful was told in early 2020 that some AEW programs, matches and feuds were booked months in advance, and obviously the pandemic threw a wrench into many of those plans. However, we're told much of what was planned actually happened. To further that, we're told of a singles program already tentatively set for the fall.

“Long term booking” **sigh** if only Vinny Mac and crew did that..

Wow I love long term booking

Planned FTR match at home. Looks like they get the win?

sure beats having a match with a distraction finish, a one-on-one match the week after, a one-on-one match with the other two the week after that, followed by what is assumed to be a blow-off PPV match, followed by a rematch the next week on TV.

i've been wanting a straight up FTR vs PNP match for like ever. I really appreciate the long term booking vision AEW employs, i find it rewarding as a loyal viewer.

I guess the long term booking included not letting FTR have a regular tag match until that match took place considering the last time they competed in a two on two tag match on Dynamite was February. Coincidentally that is also the last time Proud n Powerful competed in a two on two tag match (2/17/21). Hooray for long term booking I guess. I just hope this leads to them actually being used regularly in spots that don’t involve the Inner circle or the Pinnacle.

Well Joel, Dax has been working with a torn bicep and labrum, and they're not in the title picture. They aren't limited to 2 on 2 matches. You can progress a story without someone wrestling every week

This Hangman story has been going on for two years. His loss of self-confidence that ultimately led to the breakup of the Elite began with his loss to Jericho which was on Aug 31, 2019. That is insane.
