As of publication, multiple names that we've heard were set to be released have not yet. However, there were several names that ended up getting released that we hadn't heard about prior, and at times this year wrestlers have been "saved" from the chopping block.

We were told that the information we'd posted regarding a Nick Khan- led meeting was erroneous, and that the wheels were in motion on several of the releases prior to today.

Several of the 205 Live wrestlers fired were on higher contracts than WWE has been giving out for work on that brand of late, and we're told Tony Nese specifically has a 90-day no compete clause, August Grey has 30 days, so that shows you there's a varying amount.

Might as well cancel 205 Live

Tyler Buuck

I was wondering about how the non-competes would work given 205 live essentially was turned into an nxt property but some on the roster essentially were already main roster.

YaBoiSquintz

How do they determine how long their no complete clauses are?

Anonymous

I assume Breezango and Daivari would probably have the 90 day non completes as well, correct?

Breeze was the biggest shock to me. Uudd is the my favorite wwe branded content rn and it will not be the same without him. 😔

Joel Wood

I believe and this is just my opinion, that NXT stars only have 30 day non competes. So maybe Grey was signed under an NXT contract which would give him a lesser non compete. I stress this is my opinion from what I had heard in the past. I’m sure Sean can clarify

i mean j duke was released by wwe months ago and she’s still on UUDD regularly so i doubt breeze is leavin’ da party tbh

Didn't ever rise resign?

So there were reports saying that they wanted to focus on the Cruiserweight division but they released a bunch if Cruiserweights because they had decently lucrative contracts. Could they not restructure their contracts? Since they like to add on time like they did to The Revival or to Luke Harper or currently Jeff Hardy? Or is the money untouchable? It's so weird that the independent contractor thing comes into play when they want it to.

Uh... for a dude who ran a talent agency TV department he seems to not be interested in how entertainment works. "We were told that Nick Khan specifically is willing to take the heat and did not seem concerned about prior plans, projects, [...] or what they have going on." Isn't that basically the entire depth and breadth of what an entertainment company does?

Sounds like Corporate America to me

Joel Wood

Those guys had time added on because they spent time on the shelf due to injury. They don’t just randomly add time to people’s contracts.

I was wondering if you guys are going to do a live show today to discuss the ongoing releases but more names are being added to the list >_<

Jeff Brown

They'll no doubt discuss it on the Smackdown post show tonight.

Paul Anthony Moss

Does Khan just tell WWE HR, “you need to release 10 out of 30 names from this list. I don’t care who you pick. Just submit the names within 24 hours. If you don’t pick, I will.”?

Super bummed about Ever Rise and Breezango.

Alex's sour graps will indeed e fire when ever he has it. Could there possibly be a special episode tonight do to he releases.

Is it possible you can check regarding the situation with Breeze and UUDD? If he will still work? He is an essential part and that would be a blow for woods and the channel

Joel Wood

I am sure, al though I don’t know this to be true, but they might let him stay on as long as he doesn’t sign anywhere else. Jessamyn Duke was released and still appears but if Breeze goes to another company, you can pretty much close the door on those chances

Yeah but Breeze is an amazing wrestler and loves wrestling more than Jess. He runs a wrestling school, so he’ll def wanna wrestle elsewhere (AEW is a huge option cause of his relationship with Spears)
