In an update on this year's Summerslam, there were still a lot of wheels in motion regarding the date, and actual location. The varying reports that we've seen regarding locations have all seemingly been true at some point, but there was much back and forth over where and when the show should actually take place, but we're told WWE hoped to announce the news by Memorial Day.

Sports Business Journal reported that Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., NRG Stadium in Houston, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, MetLife Stadium in N.Y. and Nissan Stadium in Nashville were all in consideration. Allegiant Stadium is under the impression that it is happening there in Las Vegas. When we asked for a confirmation that a deal had been signed, we couldn't get that.

We're told there are multiple major names tentatively attached to the show that play into this, too.

They should do a Rumble, Hell in a Cell, Elimination Chamber and Survivor Series match at Summerslam since the fans missed all those live events this year.

My question is, do they do Cena/Lashley or Cena/Reigns as the main event?

Would love for it to be Nashville, but I know they'll never do a big one like SummerSlam. Especially since the only WWE ppvs Nashville has ever gotten is a In Your House back in the day and a Night of Champions in 2014 (plus some Raws and SmackDowns over the years). They've have several others from other companies over the years including a few WCW Starcades. And, Nashville has a rich wrestling history from back in the territory days. But, for whatever reason WWE has shied away from holding ppvs there. You would think that after all the big events the the NHL and NFL have held there there that WWE would be more open to holding them there now.
