It was revealed today by Super J-Cast that Marty Scurll will not be used on New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong tapings as originally planned. NJPW responded to the online response to the news of his involvement, but there were several members of the roster who weren't thrilled with his involvement either. Fightful heard from numerous people who worked the tapings that said if they would have been made aware of Scrull's involvement ahead of time, they would have made it clear that they didn't want to work at the tapings. Everything at the actual tapings was said to have been fine, and without incident.

All lip service then. No actual actions.

Is it starting to look like, as an on-air character, Marty might be done? Right now, doesn't look like him getting a fresh start with any promotion anytime soon.

Robert

The wrestlers. All talk. “Wouldn’t have worked it had I known”. Well, you knew when you saw him?

fightful

Are you aware of how contracts work? Travel? Pay? Where some of these people are in their career?

Robert

Are you a condescending asshole? What’s the difference then, do contracts magically disappear if they’re told ahead of time? Smh.

Robert

So that’s a yes 😂

fightful

No, you're an intentionally obtuse doofus, talking in circles. Good riddance

I think it says something when all talents and staff on NJPW Strong kept a very tight lip on Mox being on the show and not doing the same for Marty.

It’s crazy that companies don’t run these things by talent. I understand Marty is a very talented individual, but his past still does have a lot of impact on the wrestling community. I just am shocked that NJPW wouldn’t run it by the guys who would be working with him beforehand.

*phew* A bullet was dodged, I think.
