More on Big Show leaving WWE, signing with AEW (Patreon)

Fightful reached out to both WWE and AEW sources regarding The Big Show heading to All Elite Wrestling. Most of the WWE talent that we spoke with had no idea of the Big Show leaving, and said there wasn't a chorus of "goodbyes" that they recall. Meanwhile, higher ups in WWE tell us that they became aware that he would not be remaining with the company in any capacity this month.
AEW talent we've spoken to didn't know he was coming in, though that's hardly an indication across the board as some talent is more clued in than others. Those that we heard from said they were excited to learn from him.
One person close to Paul Wight said that they imagined a major career move was happening as Wight has had some "major life events" over the past few months between selling his house, his WWE deal expiring and his Netflix show being canceled.
