WWE announced Monday, January 11 that Drew McIntyre had tested positive for COVID-19 and was in quarantine, but he's far from the only one coming out of a busy holiday season. Another string of positive COVID tests hit the wrestling world. We're told that shows from WWE, All Elite Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling were all affected, with several matches and appearances nixed as a result of this. Sources in WWE said that they expected positive tests after the holidays, and were surprised that things weren't worse considering the circumstances. IMPACT Wrestling tapes a couple months worth of shows this weekend into next week, and AEW filmed two weeks worth of shows last week. Fightful gained confirmation that people set for Raw, Smackdown, AEW and IMPACT tapings were affected as a result.

Wonder if that’s why Seth’s return got axed, hope not

Just waiting on Goldberg to cut some shitty promo about Drew being afraid of him and that being why he's gone...🙄🙄

It didn't matter if they tested diligently or took extra precautions. Only way anybody could've stayed absolutely safe was just not have a party or attend a gathering for a NYE's party. Poor judgement all around. Hopefully it doesn't get worse than this.

Seths return was a Fox thing. WWE never planned to have him return that early which is why they never mentioned it

Wonder if that puts any jeopardy on the Rumble. Just imagine the amount of people interacting and back stage during a Rumble ppv. Here's hoping they're safe at that event

I can read that Drew is positive, and a smackdown star. Who in AEW tested positive? I know Thunder Rosa had exposure to someone that was positive, so the match with Britt Baker is off.

I have concerns with the wording. I think noting that all promotions are "affected" is a bit of a reach, given that the WWE has a confirmed positive test . It sounds a bit...clickbatty to me.

Then unsubscribe. I don't have concerns with the wording. This story was gonna drop tomorrow even without Drew McIntyre's involvement. Your perception of a "stretch" isn't a concern to me when you're out here asking for names that we've never provided.

David Feig

my apologies. My own question was poorly worded, never meant to ask for a name, just clarification on whether AEW or other promotions had positive tests. And looking back on the title, I guess all of the major companies are certainly affected--for some reason I initially took it to mean all companies have positive. My bad.

I'm assuming this is affecting Impact's Hard To Kill PPV this weekend also?
