If you thought the way that Goldberg and Drew McIntyre ended things on WWE Raw was off, there's a good reason for it. The show fell behind early in the night after scripts were already late for the show, and had the two stars pressed for time in the Raw main event segment. There was supposed to be supplemental actions and lines that helped make sense of Goldberg's promo about Drew McIntyre disrespecting legends. As they were facing a time crunch and had to set it up quickly, Goldberg delivered the lines as scripted, but then when they didn't make sense, ad-libbing had to be done by Drew McIntyre to add in the "fighting his dad" line.

Those that we spoke to backstage say that they were hopeful that Goldberg would ad-lib during the promo to make up for things, but understand that he was just delivering the lines as instructed.

Could this lead to USA network giving WWE the same leeway they used to have for overruns? That wouldn't have solved the flat out false accusations Goldberg was making, but at least they could have told some sort of story.

This is what happens when they force talent to memorize and recite lines verbatim. They need to allow talent, especially the younger ones, to develop the skill to ad lib without being fearful of getting in trouble with the higher ups. Goldberg is a vet, he should know better. Curious about what the cut segments actually would've provided us in terms of story.

Was the push scripted? Because that seemed to catch Drew by surprise.

This is so bizarre. Goldberg was instructed to stick to the script and yet they expected him to ad-lib because they realized it didn't make sense as he was talking?? What a disconnect between creative and not trusting wrestlers to do a promo.

Goldberg should of came out and said "you hanging out with legends...wanna be one yourself?..(push him to the floor).....your next!!...I challenge you"...pretty simple
