Fightful spoke to  Danny Limelight recently, who said he was brought in to AEW Dark by contacting Christopher Daniels and then getting booked by QT Marshall. He made it pretty clear that after appearing for several promotions throughout late 2020, that he's hoping to land full-time with All Elite Wrestling, though he's open to a variety of options.
