NXT aired on Tuesday night this week, and will do the same next week, leaving about four out of five weeks that feature AEW and NXT running unopposed of one another. Thus far, NXT's numbers have greatly benefited from this, leading many to speculate about a potential night move for them. This has actually been a pitch floated for long before.

As of a couple of months ago, USA Network had thrown out the idea of NXT moving to Tuesday nights. The network has a lot of faith and a good relationship in WWE, but those we've spoken to have said they aren't as committed to the "competition" aspect of NXT on Wednesday night considering it costs them viewers. WWE was said to have been receptive to the idea of moving nights.

We haven't been told anything firm as of now, and wrestlers and officials have not been informed of a change as of yet. Fightful has been told by those close to USA Network that these two weeks were a bit of a test run on Tuesdays out of circumstance since the show had to switch nights for the playoffs anyway.

Fightful reached out to WWE shortly before running this story, and will update if they respond.

As many have said before, nxt was only on Wednesday nights to keep aew from hitting a certain number. Both shows would greatly benefit by moving to a different night however if nxt moves to Tuesday night that means bad news for impact

When WWE fans wonder why AEW isn't the one having to move as they're the "new thing" or whatever they called them, the ratings are why. ....to which they try to claim ratings don't matter when they likely were on the edge of their seats finding out who was winning the Monday Night War each week in the 90s and always rooting for WWE. Only downside to this is that Tuesday is also when iMPACT airs, and at the same time, so I imagine that, if this happens, iMPACT will try to move to Thursday to make sure people watch.

Not really bad news for impact since their parent company own the network they are on and can move impact accordingly and has done so in the past.

I'd be all for NXT and AEW running their shows on separate nights. Instead of cannibalizing each other, they can each enjoy the audience's full attention.
