Our own Jimmy Van, somewhat of an expert on the old WWF LJN action figure line (the 8” rubber wrestlers from the 80’s), will soon be interviewing Bill Stanhope, former Product Design Manager for LJN Toys who was heavily involved in all aspects of production of the line.  JV is accepting questions exclusively from Fightful Select subscribers so if you were/are a fan of the line or of wrestling figures in general and have a question, post it here.  If it’s used, JV will credit you for it!

How do you feel action figures today have improved on what you made and what could they learn from your line?

What was the thought process of creating variants for certain superstars? How did you decide which wrestlers would have variants?

How were poses determined? As a kid, most of the wrestlers I played with the most were ones that could punch, suplex, DDT, etc. Some of them like Andre, Hogan, and Greg Valentine were great, but Bob Orton and Rick Rude were just awful to play with.

I thought the wrestlers had great likeness and detail, but that really sacrificed articulation. Was that reasoning behind that?
