Fightful Select caught up with Mason Madden and Mansoor at the Squared Circled Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. The former WWE tag team and Retribution stablemates joined Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for an exclusive interview, that ended up having a delayed release as they quickly headed to Uganda for SGW and spoke with Fightful then.

The interview began with Sean mentioning Mason Madden and Mansoor have done shows at Fightful, but none with him. Madden asked if Sean was shaming them for it. Mason and Mansoor have been on multiple shows, such as Indied! The Wrestling Podcast. Mansoor has appeared on Sour Graps, and most recently, Madden appeared on the new Fightful Movie Club podcast to review Kill Bill Volume 1.

Madden shared a story about how he received a scar from Omos. He said that Drew Gulak was leading a class and that they were doing monkey rolls at the WWE Performance Center. Madden said Omos got busted open when their heads collided. Madden mentioned Omos had to miss the Royal Rumble because he was dealing with a concussion.

Madden would share details that Omos was supposed to do a spot with Kane at the Royal Rumble, but it was pulled due to the injury that occurred.

Sean told the guys that he was a big fan of Omos. Mansoor then asked Sean if he was an “Omosexual”, and Sean confirmed that he was after being confronted by Omos.

Sean would circle back and ask the two if they thought Gulak ever made Stone Cold Steve Austin do monkey rolls when he trained with him at Broken Skull Ranch.

Madden mentioned that he sometimes gets mistaken for Trick Williams. Madden said another man at the show the day before told him he looked like Booker T.

Mansoor said he was ready to do the interview and bury the WWE, but their royalties check hit. He then added that he loved the Fed and began singing, “It’s all about the Game and how you play it.”

Madden mentioned that when he was part of the Retribution stable in WWE, the royalties were split six ways. Madden also mentioned that he designed the Retribution t-shirt. He said he did it for free and was not paid.

Mansoor mentioned that they made money off of the WWE Supercard. He said, “I know you're not actually giving us the money because you buy packs, and it opens up, and if you're in one of those packs if your card is in one of those packs, you make money.” They would add that they were considered common cards and had no rare cards.

Mansoor told Fightful Select about some of the details regarding contracts. He says many of the WWE contracts are structured now to include everything.

Madden added, “I think the downside is very generous, but it's designed in such a way that if you are doing very well on the outside, then you kind of still get what you were going to get.”

Sean asked Madden and Mansoor what their favorite shenanigan was in Retribution. Mansoor replied, “They want retribution, the killers; they wanted them to be a threat, and who did they fucking put under the ski mask? The motherfucking lollipop guild, what did they expect was going to happen?

Madden said his favorite happened in the ThunderDome. He said, “We used to do a lot of movie magic, right? We hid in all sorts of places. So one of the places that we hid was in the crowd amongst the TV screens. One of the times that we were going to do a run-in, somebody had hacked one of the TV screens, and there was a video of a Ku Klux Klan rally that was on the TV screen, and it was right in front of me, and I was like spooked because I was like, are they coming?”

Sean mentioned that Retribution did high Youtube numbers. Madden told Sean that Xyon Quinn and Von Wagner were used in some Retribution scenes.
