Figthful's Corey Brennan speaks with Charles Crowley.

Charles Crowley recently sat down with Fightful’s Corey Brennan for a recent interview just days removed from returning home to the UK after a stint in Japan. You can find early notes from this interview below.

On his tour of Japan, Charles stated he “could not express enough” how much of a different beast the country is to the UK. He said that during his time in Japan he learned a lot about himself and working with the likes of Tajiri taught him a lot about the business that he didn’t know. He also praised Tajiri for not having a “bump card” when he competed. Charles also highlighted the intensity and seriousness that was presented in Japanese wrestling.

Speaking on his upcoming match with Danhausen in OTT, Charles expressed his excitement to share ideas with the AEW star, and thinks he and Danhausen both have excellent timing with regards to their comedy and believes the match will be “spectacular.”

Charles noted that a large part of his character was inspired by renowned well known satanist Aleister Crowley, and the idea of someone using the power of the mind to manipulate others. Charles also noted that steampunk and carnival elements came together to create the Charles Crowley character.

On his contact lenses that he wears while wrestling, while he has not had many issues with them in the ring, he did recall a story of while returning home from a show on the train where he realised one of his lenses was stuck in his eyelid.

In speaking about Session Moth Martina and The Session Twats, Charles had nothing but good things to say about Martina, noting that it has been “amazing” to team with her. Charles also praised Riot Cabaret for giving them the platform to be themselves.

On his other tag team partner Alexxis Falcon, he noted that in originally working together in a rivalry, it helped him learn what his boundaries were as a heel before teaming together, with Charles highlighting they’re Progress Tag Team Title win.

Charles noted that he would like to focus more on singles work now he is back from Japan, and said he had some matchups coming up with some AEW names that had yet to be announced.

Finally, Charles spoke about the similarities between his character and that of Uncle Howdy, noting that he would like to form his own faction around his character, but admits that is harder to achieve on the indies.
