WWE announced a major deal that would send Royal Rumble 2025 to Indianapolis, as well as future WrestleMania and Summerslam shows.

News of the possibility was broken by WrestleVotes last week, and confirmed by WWE on June 24. The Indiana Sports Corp had pushed for the events locally. This now solidifies locations for Summerslam, WrestleMania and Royal Rumble through 2025, and has two locations in subsequent years nailed down.

Royal Rumble as a possible February destination has long been discussed, as was a potential WrestleMania date in May before late April was settled on. We're told that avoiding Super Bowl weekend and NFL playoffs was important into that decision making. It doesn't mean that it will remain in February moving forward, but that the Super Bowl calendar could cause that.

In addition, WWE's press release announced that a future two-night Summerslam would be coming to Indiana. Those we spoke to in WWE said that the Minnesota expansion to two nights was the start of that event likely moving to two nights moving forward. We've not been told of Royal Rumble expanding to two nights, however, one longtime WWE higher up told us that it's certainly constructed in a way that would easily work for two nights.

Some of the positives that WWE sources highlighted to us regarding Indianapolis was the ease of access in the city, proximity to other major cities, and the indoor stadium. Years ago, Indianapolis also had a strong showing for peripheral events around the Super Bowl.

Two nights of any event is just overkill for no reason, just all about that money.

I still don’t like 2 night summerslams. There are never enough storylines going into it, hell there’s often not enough to fill a 2 night mania card
