Missa Kate Notes

Fightful Select recently caught up with Missa Kate at the Squared Circle Expo in Indianapolis. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and the former NWA Women’s Tag Team Champion discussed numerous topics.

The conversation began with the two discussing Baseball because Missa Kate wore a Chicago Cubs jersey. She told Sean she was born and raised in Chicago.

Sean asked Kate about her reaction when she learned M95 would become an NWA Tag Team Champion. She said, “We’re like, are you sure?” She mentioned that she was really excited and had a lot of fun with her tag team partner, Madi Wrenkowski. She would add that she misses her partner but is very happy for her. Wrenkowski is now known as Wren Sinclair in WWE.

Sean mentioned the team's popularity and noted that people online said they were TV-ready. Kate said that the popularity was also surprising, and she was told that their shirt was one of the most pre-ordered shirts the NWA ever had. Kate told Sean that this [tag team] was something that would hold near and dear to her. She says that working with Wrenkowski could happen again in the future.

Kate mentioned Jazz and Aron Stevens as two people she learned much from while wrestling in the NWA. She added that when talking to them, they can give you an easy answer and make things look simple.

When asked which one of her matches she would tell someone to watch who might be just seeing someone getting introduced to her work, Kate said there were a few of them for different reasons. She talked about wrestling Kylie Rae at Warrior Wrestling. She mentioned Kylie’s son was there to see it. Kate also mentioned a match against Natalie Markova at Midwest All-Star Wrestling. She said that the match had a double-lady low blow. She mentioned a bar fight against JJ Garrett.

Kate says one of her goals in 2024 is to wrestle more. She says the past four or five months is the most she’s traveled in six years. She would also like to wrestle in Japan.

I thought TK wasn't meant to travel because of his neck? 😉

Good luck to AEW on the creative plans. I feel the biggest hindrances to the company have been injuries at the worst times
