I remember a lot being actually surprise of the result, me included. My Top would have been : - ONEUS/THE BOYZ - ONF / PENTAGON | TOO/VERIVERY ONEUS/TBZ performance was my favorite because I liked the little section with rap/vocal/dance, what they were telling, the sentimental aspect of it with the fanchant, the arrangement was nice too. I put the others together because honestly I don't know who i would put above each others. As much as I'm fan of ONF, it's maybe one of the few cover they did i'm not fan of. It's like there are some parts I like and some I don't. I loved the vocal part with mostly Hui and Hyojin, they were really good, point i didn't like was Wooseok rap for example and some part of the arrangement wasn't my strong suit but it was okay. For TOO and VERIVERY, I'm not sure if ON was a good choice, I liked some part, it was okay but it just didn't really wow me at all even them putting the flag didn't have much impact? As much as I was surprised when I first saw the result when you think more about it, it isn't surprising. I believe there was still fan vote right? and they had to rank from 1 to 3 the performance? (I don't remember if it's the group who do that or the fans) but imagine, you are fan of ONF and PENTAGON, you put them first, who is their biggest rival ? THE BOYZ so you put them last. Just strategy, idk for TOO and VERIVERY but I feel like these votes mostly ended up with strategy in mind meanwhile in the others episodes the voting system was different. Can't really be mad that's a survival show Even if I didn't like KILL THIS LOVE, I will always be happy because both PENTAGON and ONF went through so much in their carrier and deserved that. Actually Road to Kingdom was ONF last chance, if they didn't do well on it, they might have been disband by now but they gained a strong korean fanbase, the general public tend to like them even if their songs don't really top and more international fans get to know them even if they could be more well know, they just finished touring in Canada and it was heartwarming to see a lot of people

I’m sorry you’re cursed to have your personal favorites ranked low 😭 I loved hearing your thoughts on this particular challenge, and I think you articulated a lot of what I thought about this challenge. I totally agree with your takeaways on the performances. I also share the personal opinion that I wasn’t a huge fan of the arrangement for kill this love, although I’m not really a fan of that song in the first place. I also think that BTS ON is already so large scale and bombastic that I would be totally blown away to see a group find a way to up the anti even more, so I feel like that performance was also set up to be a bit dissappointing for me personally. Obviously, those are two very specific things and I imagine at the time being fans of those groups, I would just be excited to see what they are doing, especially since I believe the audience votes don’t get as much context as we get watching the show back. I think there is a bit of a trend on kingdom, for better or worse, where slow building, more emotional performances, when they are more understated or don’t also have highly engaging flourishes are incredibly risky like you said. I also think that there are a few performances in KLW where I had the same issue- the concepts and stages were phenomenal, groups pulled out all the stops, but the song choices and remixing/arrangement decisions really took away from my enjoyment. Since I think I value collaboration and integration between these elements, that really caused me to rank those performances lower than others. Still, I have seen so many people look back on The Boyz and Oneus’s performance so fondly!

Completely agree with you here regarding the voting for this Collab round.. Doesn't really surprise me especially with how the Street Fighter Series has been, it's had for me to truly see how these things are judged objectively. I also feel like these arrangements that keep throwing me off have really helped me understand and feel the need to continue to grow and research within the realm of musicality and music production regarding covers! I feel everyone got a growth spurt viewing this show and participating within it!

It's not the first time my favorite performances fell short on the ranking list.. It's something I see in my day to day as a dance coach who takes dancers to competitions and the subjectiveness can really trickle over there as well! And I am all here for the risky routines! Sometimes those are the ones that will leave people remembering that routine over who really won that challenge! I've seen it happen all the time!

Late to the party and just now going through all of your RTK reactions but honestly the Kill This Love stage was one of my favorites from the show lol I loved the arrangement of the song but outside of k-pop i'm into rock, metal, post-hardcore, indie and especially love weird/interesting sounding music that has unusual choices for sounds and structure, that's partly why I love Xdinary Heroes (korean band) so maybe that's why I liked the song arrangement and performance so much xD Although having said that my personal rank for the collab challenge would have been TBZxOneus,PTGxONF and then TOOxVeriVery, I'm just a sucker for a touching story line and it genuinely looked like all of the members in TBZ and Oneus were having so much fun with this performance! I feel like despite people being extra critical when their faves or big groups are covered, in this case the song choice DID benefit TOO and VeriVery. People like BTS and the song ON so they just chose that one more at least that was what it felt like to me. They did a great job and definitely improved a lot but the stage just fell a bit flat for me personally but since they chose a popular song and did well they got a lot of votes lol if they had done bad then yeah they probably would have been last and ripped to shreds online lol but i'm personally not a huge fan of any of the original songs used this round so I feel like I was able to be pretty objective for the most part and it just didn't hit for me. I also realized while watching these competition programs that more light hearted perfromances do not rank as well as dark or intense ones, at least when it comes to boy groups. The ranking probably also did have a lot to do with fans strategies as a previous comment stated.

You are never late, just all of us were early 😂 completely see your perspective here and I love it! So happy that you enjoyed the arrangement because I was TRYING 😂 thank you for having the taste you do! And you are right with the strategies used here with song choice. Hopefully with this upcoming season, we won’t be encountering these types of things as often but you never know 😂 we will all be here for it I’m sure!
