Glad you didn't find the captains voting TOO crazy this week haha, it does help that they say it's based on preference instead of some rubric that no one ends up following. I was surprised the GoGo brothers team won their round too! Like you said they really look like they struggled at the beginning. I remember being really confused about them not showing Liang Liang's group's performance when the episode aired. I'm not 100% on this but I read something about the music not being cleared to air after they had already done the challenge so they just removed the entire part. The showed hasn't really shied away from showing errors in performances beyond maybe some camera work, there have definitely been cases of people making mistakes. S1 in particular during this challenge, one group forgot almost their entire piece and they showed it anyways 😂 Ibuki definitely seemed like she had more fun in S4 than in S6, could be the editing but she looked stressed every week in S6. Like people mentioned the vibe from the S4 contestants just felt more positive overall so maybe that's why. There definitely has been a lack of American dancers in SDC that aren't guest judges/choreographers behind the scenes. Only ones that were participants and got screen time were Jawn Ha from the Kinjaz in S1, and Franklin Yu in S2. I do think it's because the show isn't really well known here in North America. If you don't have the intention to travel and teach in China after, being on the show doesn't necessarily translate to new work opportunities. So people are more happy working behind the scenes rather than deal with the stress of participating.

Ahh, yes, I agree with you so hard in this episode. Like if you strip Gogo Brother's team credentials, what are you really left with in their performance? AC's team won that IMO so it's so sad to see them lose because nobody was expecting them to even have a shot at winning. Also, why did Henry choose the members he chose for elimination? I will never understand Auju being the one to go. I thought he did really well in the performance except for that beginning with the rose petal shapes. I think he really could've shown some cool stuff if he'd survived this round. Later this same year (I believe it was during the free month before the live finals) he actually battled AC & Yoonji in a 2v2 event and krumped to It's Raining Men, that was the weirdest and most epic krumping moment I've seen in a hot minute lol. And the battles - ugh. I cannot understand why some of the captains voted the way they did, other than just bias. AC shouldn't have lost 1:3 to Nelson, and Ibuki shouldn't have tied AC. I thought those two battles were the clearest in terms of a winner, and yet here we are. Also, Lay's vote did count, he voted Ibuki, it was just a subtitle issue - they gave her 2 points correctly. I can only speculate about why U.S. dancers aren't on the show, but Koreans specifically, it's very easy. K-netizens were boycotting the show over something that happened on SDC3 + they were overall boycotting China at this point due to cultural appropriation. This happened at the same time Chinese netizens were claiming Hanbok and Kimchi to be Chinese inventions. SDC3's fusion episode featured folk dances where they presented Korean folk dance, and I don't know the nuances of the language to understand why it was an issue, but K-netizens were claiming SDC3 was appropriating Korean folk dance. They went after Lay & Yibo hard for being on the show despite their K-pop background, calling them traitors etc. Later in SDC4, NCT's Ten & Yoonji joined as judges in an unaired(!) portion of the show, and they also received a lot of hate for being there. So yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing Korean dancers on the show any time soon (though Prowdmon did join Great Dance Crew 2 as guests, so maybe not all hope is lost)

Another side note, I find it interesting Latrice was chosen for TBD by Lay. Since we haven't seen the performance we cannot really tell why. It's just that she'd been one of Lay's main dancers on his tour for like 2 years by this point, so it's interesting that it was him who sealed her fate. I guess we can't call him biased for his dancer friends lol

Gotcha! Thank you for the insight with the lack of USA participants! And I'm excited to see more joy this season and I also hope for some incredible choreography along the way! Hears to also hoping that the judging is better haha!
