This challenge is one of those cases where there's ambiguity in the both the rules and translation. They translate "作品" to "choreography" everytime, which is not exactly spot on. A more direct translation would be to show "a piece of work", and that's a much more general term (you could ask a professional painter to show you a 作品, but you couldn't ask them to show you a choreo). Of course in a team/group setting, 作品 would imply choreo but for this week people might've just taken it to mean a showcase. The challenger section has to freestyle anyways, so there's really nothing that says the challenged section can't. Most people will have a routine though just cause being able to bring your own music is such a huge advantage. I don't know if that brings more clarity to whether the first few contestants (GoGo brothers, Nelson, Liang Liang/Spark) should've choreographed more or if Bouboo should've done what they did to more safely secure 4 votes. Either way I agree he shouldn't have needed to get called out there ahaha

singal man was a typo haha the typo said signalman I didn't like Liang Liang's freestyle personally....since everything felt so unplanned...and the song choice. It was a song that didn't have any highs or lows or accents so didn't feel like the right kind of song for an assignment like this so... JC Jun too.. imo...he did some interesting things but it all felt too much and didn't match the song to me.... Ibuki and AC are a mood tho heheh and Jnr Taco's round haha so funny and brilliant no matter how many times I watch it

Thank you so much for the explanation. This helps me get into a better frame of mind for Part 2 today! Thank you thank you!! This is why ambiguity leads to frustration and confusion haha! At the end of the day, everyone is competing at a high level and it's still impressive how they chose to showcase themselves! We also gotta admit one of the best things my eyes have ever seen WAS JR. F*****G TACO HAHA!

Ah, yes, the Bouboo controversy LMAO! I forgot about this one. As mentioned in the last ep comments, I wouldn't have given anyone a free pass in this section except for Gogo Brothers, David, and AC. I thought all the others should've gotten 2-3 votes, especially Nelson and Liang Liang. I really liked Ibuki the first time I saw this episode 2 years ago, but now on a rewatch, I absolutely agree with you that it wasn't quite there and should've been called out (though I don't think anyone would've succeeded in the call out anyway). I'll talk about the Bouboo controversy more in the next part where it's more relevant. Jr. Taco SLAYEDDDD!!!
