They are amazing performers and it shows how much they love what they do. It shows how much they enjoy being on stage and receibing energy from the crowd. They always do that little going back to run to the front together on Mayday 🙌 Interesting fact. They almost didn't make it to the festival. They actually sent them a Prívate Jet so they would be able to make it 💞

I hate it when they put loud backing tracks over idols that can sing well live. It just causes non-fans to accuse them of lipsynching. I get having loud backing or even pre-recorded vocals for songs that are very choreo-heavy, especially for something like a music show, but for a live concert?? I feel like this has become much more prevalent over the past years, maybe because Kpop has become more and more choero-focused over time?

This was such a fun fun fun concert and I'm so glad the ladies had this chance. Fun fact: they almost didn't make it. Their flight from Berlin to Madrid was canceled and they were stuck - they let Primavera know and Primavera literally sent them a private jet to get them there. The organizers REALLY wanted them there! (There's a Dreamcatcher's Note for it lol) As you noticed, the crowd grew from Chase Me to Airplane - they have such wonderful energy that it really just allows people to drop on in and enjoy the vibes. I'm so glad that I was able to join this marathon with you and watch you appreciate their growth and sheer tenacity for doing something so unconventional in a trend-based semi conforming industry. After years of dedicated work, tours, and being genuinely lovely people, it's paying off - they've gotten 4 wins (not a "lot" but given the digitals weakness since the majority of fans are still international it's pretty damn impressive), they're well loved by the industry (FriendCatcher is a VERY real thing and they've gotten mentions and recs from more popular groups to boost their domestic presence just a little bit more), and they're in a good place to continue to grow and develop. I can't wait to see what else you come out with! (Shinee's back 🤭 I haven't looked at the poll but I'm pretty sure SHINee won... you'll get the reference soonish and I get to see you encounter Taemin's (infamous) striped shirt.)

I always love live vocals in a performance over everything else but I totally get the concession of having a supportive pre-recorded backtrack for energy reservation for idols if they so choose. But putting them way up in the mix like this is especially egregious with a group like Dreamcatcher who always visibly do their best to sing live - like, they aren't even *lip-syncing* (in the sense of stopping vocalization completely to let the backtrack take point while they focus on choreo), their mic is constantly on and picks them up but whoever controls the mix just goes overboard and it drowns one way or another. 😥 I wish the industry and general public wasn't so harsh about imperfections in vocals that people keep making these decisions. The "imperfections" and just variations from day to day are what gives personality to a performance in my opinion.

So you got it just right with the Tension and Good Night similarity: Tension (in its Korean form) *was* written as the second title track but it was modified and made into Good Night in the end. They released the Korean version in their first full album Dystopia Tree of Knowledge. It's why the songs sounds so similar in some sections.

What I love about the concert versions is that we get to hear Handong in Scream, Boca, Sahara, Break the Wall...Pretty much all the songs she wasn't on because of her absence. <3

That's a very good observation! I hope that the future they are able to limit doing this especially for groups that can SING SING you know? Hopefully we get ATEEZ with live vocals on Coachella playback!

Shinee did in fact win and it was SUCH a joy watching Dreamcatcher all month!! I felt like I got to grow as a viewer of kpop and I loved it so much!!! And you will see how much SHINee I know "MY NAME IS MINHO" will come out to play haha ! I thank YOU so much for helping me with insight and commentary with this group all month long.. It truly has meant the world!!

I don't know think anyone else mentioned it, but I've got to give the Primavera organizers props for how they treated the concert upload. After the initial livestream they posted the video and then a few days to maybe a week later they reuploaded it with the audio you're hearing on this. They went through the whole concert and remixed the sound so that the live vocals were more prominent and louder while also keeping the ad libs at a lower volume so that the singing took priority. The backing track was louder during the initial broadcast, and even though you could still hear the girls' live voices, this is MUCH better. They are fantastic performers and really give back as much energy to the crowd as they get. I've still yet to get an opportunity to see them live but I've watched a bunch of concerts and fan cams and they're amazing. I've also seen several people talk about their DC concert experience, some of whom have been to dozens of concerts talk about DC being one of the best shows they've ever been to. One in particular has been to well over 100 concerts with artists from all over the globe and they said the same thing. I hope I get to see them one day myself. Your comment about them getting new fans is spot on. Every time they perform at an event where there are multiple artists, twitter gets inundated with "Who's x girl in Dreamcatcher with x hair color" or "Those Dreamcatcher girls were amazing, maybe I need to pay more attention". My running theory is that DC just isn't as popular because so many people just don't know who they are. They were never invited to award shows until after Maison. They've never had the exposure that lots of other groups get, and they've had to claw their way to where they are, picking up fans along the way. While they're still not huge they've amassed a pretty large following and seem to be pretty stable at this point. There was probably going to be one more song but they ran out of time I think, hence the confusion there at the very end. That final song was probably New Days, which is a banger, and is just a great closing song. It was written by Dami I believe. I can't recommend the rest of their discography enough. It's full of great hype songs, beautiful ballads, and chill vibey songs. Thanks for going through this journey and for supporting our girls with your content!
