You're talking about Nana! Talk about a deep cut there lol Well these lyrics are following King's Raid storyline so there is an element of obsession and possessiveness (which we're going to revisit in BEcause in a major way) fun fact: Siyeon's hand drag up her head is Korean sign language that matches the lyrics! I'm so glad you're enjoying your time in the dream world - these ladies are wonderful in so many ways and watching people discover them is always a joy! (also look at me forgetting that you're doing 2 at a time which means you're up to Dystopia already!)

I think other fans already told this before, so just a reminder that since "Deja Vu" all their title track choreos (and a B-side track "Black and White" choreo) have been handled by their newly hired/promoted ex-trainee Hwang Sooyeon, with the recent exception being choreo for OOTD (choreo by La Chica, but in the album Hwang Sooyeon is also credited so I'm not sure if she helped, but I really don't think so based on choreo). I wonder if there are some "signatures" or "preferences" of hers as a choreographer, maybe development of which that can be tracked through the Dreamcatcher's journey, seeing as she is advancing together with the group in her own career too. In my opinion, the main advantage DCC gained from this move is getting a choreographer who was trained to be an idol, which I think helps a lot the group members too. Afaik she is always mindful of giving space for live singing and mindful of how the choreo might affect singing. I'm not sure if this choreographer change is clearly noticable, but I sure felt it when I saw OOTD live performances and how some of the moves ended up affecting live singing waaay more than what I was used to.

I think if she's credited, she did have some hand in the choreography, be it modifying it or contributing some moves to it. From my interpretation of the lore of VillianS, the choreography clashing with being able to sing totally live makes sense to me. But it's still annoying to hear when we're so used to smoother lives. I don't know if this was intentional for lore (which is entirely possible with their entire ARG commitment) or if Sooyeon was busy with her solo debut and couldn't participate as much or any other reason, really.

haha! I'm working my way through the discography and I am having an absolute BLAST! And YES I was referring to NANA! Loved seeing her on the show "Room mate"! Such a great way for me to be introduced to her!

The choreography for Deja Vu is very theatrical and tells a story. JiU and Yoohyeon are both main characters in their MV, so I think the choreo singled out JiU in that moment, like a memory.

2024-02-09 03:20:45 I know this video is very old but just catching up at the moment. A few of the notes on certain moves probably has a lot to do with their stage outfits for this comeback. You probably saw in the MV, but one of the stage outfits for this song has sleeves with a very long, almost curtain like, extension that they tend to throw out throughout the song. Banding’s spin for example makes use of this, which is why it looks slightly awkward in the dance practice.
