so true about the superbowl performance! although i'm not from the US, i knoww how critical they can be. and the feeling of trying to protect them is real. i really understand and i do want the best for them, but at the same time just wanting them to be away from all those negative commentary.!! honestly, they do get many negative comments bc of their identity like the whole kpop/jpop/xpop thing, being japanese in korea but singing in english, etc, especiallyy during their early days. so seeing them growing steadily just wants me wanting to protect them always haha. bc it's not just their music or dances, but their mindset, thoughts, and how they acknowledge for all their stuff from music/ artist influences to dancers they look up to. sometimes i just wish they see your video hahah. i learnt a lot. while we do share same feelings and thoughts, there are also many things you point out, that i never realised, and some things i can actually use in real life <3

Haha! I’m glad I’m in good company! And you guys have been so gracious to me with all of the new information learned about XG and other groups! It really makes me feel like I’m a positive addition to the group!

Totally understand your point about the superbowl. The way they ripped into Rihanna despite her incredible set and even when K-pop group perform on talk shows and at the Grammys, there are a lot of ignorance that comes w the way they get judge that’s quite ugly and as we grew to love them, o think we’re also protective of them. I do think XG has a much more Western appeal than a lot of other groups, but again let’s be honest even BTS struggled to get the respect as an artist from nonkpop ppl in America despite their smashing success. A lot of ppl in the west talk about them as oh that group w lots of fans and more afraid of the fans than respecting them as artists. Being on something like the Super Bowl will introduce a lot of ppl to them. But would also invite a lot of ignorance and disrespect. These girls are so precious in their dream and hope to show their message and talents to the world that you can’t help feeling protective to that pure dream and not want it to be disrespected by those who doesn’t understand. It’s the growing pain when one push through that barrier to the wider western audience. I do think they need to brush up more on performance instinct and confidence in their own identity as artists, demonstrate more individual creativity to earn the respect of the western crowd as they push to that direction. I am excited to see that journey despite feeling a little worried. May be not right now but I think give it a few years in this trajectory and simon giving them a healthy amount of exposure in the culture, I can see it. At that point they might realize themselves that they don't need the validation of the superbowl. I’m ready for a global group like them w the performance instinct and artistry of 2ne1 or BB with that high level and polished skill

Yes to this!!! I 1000% agree with you here! I'm hopeful they will be able to push those barriers in the future to be able to meet their goals!
