At the time of release there were a lot of speculations whether or not there were different reasons involved which were not mentioned, including potential decisions from higher up - but nothing was really confirmed. In the end, Airi making a solo debut under XGALX didn't work out. She still made her solo debut under the name KAMIYA. The musical direction she went is very different from XG's though, bordering into hyperpop. You can check out her work here if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/@kamiya368/videos The lyrics of her song "Sweet and Sour", which released a day before this episode, touch up on her time with XG. There is a part that roughly translates to: "Tokyo, where you can't see the shooting star Shit! But I'll pray for you Tears I dropped that day I'll pick them up and play!" Even though the plans for Airi's solo debut with the company didn't work out, I am glad that Simon still pulled some strings to help her out. Her early songs were produced by Seann Bowe and Xansei, who also produced XG's SHOOTING STARS. Simon and Airi also met recently and talked over a cup of coffee. So at least the break didn't leave them on bad terms. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with meaningful insights, as always, and I am looking forward to more :)

Thank you for another great reaction! I think that a lot of the members' comments led me to the same thought about why Airi didn't debut as a part of XG - the way that so many of them talked about needing to step up with Airi leaving seems like it was the push many of them needed to take the next step - that they were relying on her too much. Airi seems to have separated from XGALX and gone on to release music as a solo artist under her last name, Kamiya. She has a YouTube channel and a few MVs and dance videos: https://www.youtube.com/@kamiya368 Thanks for providing an explanation of texture - I've always guessed at it from context and the explanation of the movement being the words and the texture being the adjectives definitely helps. It's interesting that cleaning often removes texture and that it needs to then be added back in. I'd love to see a video deconstructing texture or providing a good example of it if you have any suggestions (or could make one? Jess' guide to dance terminology 😀) Just started on SWF2 - planning to go through the collection by date of upload - hopefully that is a good way to watch it? Looking forward to learning more from your analysis of these professional dance crews! (And of course, XTRA XTRA X♾️)

I'd never seen the lyric translations - thanks for sharing that! I hadn't heard that they met for coffee either. That's good to hear, even if she didn't end up debuting under XGALX.

Yay for SWF2! Date of upload is a great way since it's most likely the order in which I watched it! Fun fact is the SWF2 is the FIRST exposure to the Street Fighter series so my thoughts are soooo interesting and not contextualized the way they are now! The analysis is the same, but the references are different by nature haha! We will see about the dance terminologies video possibly haha! Sounds fun!

I’m not sure if this has ever been discussed but I was curious about how Simon told Jurin about Airi leaving the group. Because as far as I noticed they never showed him telling her. So I’m just curious about how that discussion would have gone.

This is a very interesting note as well. I haven't thought about that in that way before! I'm assuming it would have looked a bit similar to how others were told but I guess we will never know!
