Just got part where u locked in juria because of bangs and im predicting 7/7!!!!!!! Also Ps some of us alphaz use her bangs as the timeline LOL helps decipher when some bts/vlogs/etc. videos were filmed hahahha great job so far!!!

Lauren Freeman

This song really hit special in the year of the Barbie movie 😘

YOU GOT THEM ALL RIGHT! This was great as always. I think this was my least favorite XG song, but the choreo put an exclamation point on it for me and was so playful! I am so happy you were able to get them all, Juria is my bias so I shouted “Let’s Go!” When you got her. It was odd that they decided to switch between cameras at first for me, not being used to choreo videos I searched endlessly for a “stationary camera” dance practice. Hearing you explain it though, it makes so much more sense now. It was just 3 still cameras so they could catch angles, not really a moving camera. I think this is the first song for me that I felt Cocona wasn’t on her A game for this practice, but it made a few of the others (like Hinata) look like rockstars. The next song is one of my favorite choreos, cannot WAIT for you to review New Dance. That’s the one I voted for you to do, although I think any of them you will kill it. :)

As for unrefinement this year i think has been super crazy for them. Was on 24+ music shows, dropped 9 songs and all have a visual video for them whether performance or official (6 of which are a ep), did a reality show, cover of 3 physical magazine + 2 digital one, did 9 concerts across 7 countries. Also multiple photo shoots and other big features like apple next music etc.

It let me vote for multiple so i basically voted for top 4 hahahahahah but new dance is great!!!! Simpler choreo from looks of it but definitely got that summer groove to it. Also first take at coco singing

I've never heard of such a relatable comment haha! Love that the bangs are a reference in timeline!!

JessReacts764

That would make any choreography not look the cleanest... That is a WILD schedule! But the fact their routines are still clean shows their work ethic!!!

Stan Yamane

I was wondering if the tight schedule over the summer might have been part of it. On top of that, they also released 2 more TAPEs (rap line subgroup song/video) and a VOX (vocal subgroup song/video). Hard to believe that everything from Shooting Star onwards was all 2023!

Congratulations on learning all 7 members so quickly! (less than 3 weeks from the start of the marathon!). Loved the analysis on the hand placement and arm shape choices and what the choices being made conveyed differently. The choreography fingerprints were also interesting to learn about. I have to go back and watch that Rihanna Superbowl halftime show! Glad you liked TGIF! It is a super fun song and I liked all the ways that the choreo accented parts like "You call it cocky, I call it true!" Thanks for the breakdown!

Just curious, is there any great vogue dancers/choreos/performances you could recommend?

JessReacts764

Kpop side: Fast Forward - SOMI has some great dancers in the vogue scene as backups and you can feel that as they perform. I forgot the dancers name specifically, but my personal favorite vogue performer did a military themed walk and I DIED! I’ll drop the link! https://youtu.be/XANTW5v2084?si=fy-f_pBC89TkveoC

Thank you as always for contributing to discussions and helping me be able to get to the place of getting all the members names!!! Woohoo!!

Hahaha that was amazing! I love LOVE RAN, her original choreo to Kwon Eunbi's Glitch is one of my favourite kpop choreographies, below's link if you wanna check. Non kpop I've been living for Jungle's new album and their music videos, but you're probably familiar with them since there was some viral dance challenges for at least one or two songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVNbMzLj7Dc

They released a motion picture version of the album, it's honestly just art. https://youtu.be/SU5tSF6k-m8?si=FjqIsbVEIDIrre1S

Finally had some time to go back and watch that Superbowl performance - that was mesmerizing! So many interesting formations and movements (lots of arm shapes), camera angles, and the moving platforms ... thanks for recommending it!
