yeah so let me throw in some context as to why team bebe was eliminated! this episode had once again was 100% all audience voting (which i have qualms with for this szn but i’ll explain later) and i didn’t catch if it was all dancers like last time for hook vs. lachica so i would keep that in mind LOL. basically they actually got 4th overall with this dance and mannequeen got 5th, but as you remember from the preview for this episode, there’s the ACE battle. basically the audience voted for that as well (once again, i didnt catch what they voted based off of or if they only voted for one person etc) and the ACE (nara) from mannequeen ranked 1st. with her score combined with mannequeen’s group score, they jumped from 5th to 3rd.

so interesting to note: bada lee choreographed illusion by aespa. i think having bebe jr perform this was a bit on the nose and invited even more comparisons to bebe

i honestly think any of the 5 being in the finals was understandable and deserved! very happy about the ranks for 1million especially and i’m happy for the other girls, but i feel sad for bebe (tbh lachica too) especially because of how mnet i making this season. it’s like they saw all the criticism from all the street fighter series and instead of fixing things, they made it worse 😭. this season it feels as if they are throwing stuff at the walk to see what sticks. they started off surprising every crew by saying they’re splitting them up. the fans are barely given any time to “bond” (for lack of better wording) with the crews bc of how the episodes are laid out + the splitting up in the beginning. like if you don’t follow these girls’ instagrams or tiktoks, you won’t feel really connected at all which is a big part of these shows. so honestly it’s not surprising when people just end up rooting for the crews they’ve heard of from swf. then what really bugs me is the fact the mentors really get no say in results in comparison to the past season where they had a say in almost every round. fans have literally wanted more fair voting and instead they make it 100% live audience 😭…like okay i guess, especially bc they were dancers for the first time at least! now i really hope this episode had all or mostly dancers in the audience as well, but if not…i’m going to have a giant bone to pick. because regardless of who would’ve gotten eliminated, this is just so unserious. that’s why i think this mission was made to just make these girls go through extra stress because if the whole point in the beginning was to make new teams one time and try to mesh, why are you doing it again for one singular mission? 😭 it would be bad enough if this was swf but it’s extra disheartening because THESE ARE KIDS! the oldest girls are literally 18. i know at the end of the day mnet makes shows for drama and it’s not all fair play but seriously? good luck to the remaining 4 crews! i’m happy for whomever wins, i just hope mnet learns for once 😭 and never does this again.

I can 1000% agree with you here. No one would have any issues with anyone in the finals... I do think it's interesting that based on a singular mission a consistently good group can be eliminated in the blink of an eye... CRAZY.... Mnet really needs some dancer heads in those board meeting with these shows because when you have KIDS going through this mess, I can have QUITE a few bones to pick with you about that. I also can't believe that mentors possibly get NO SAY in the voting..... That's the best part about the first season..... It actually felt more fair! We will see when this episode is translated haha

thank you for mentioning how some choreographers and dancers are too comfy with letting kids dance sexually because it bothers me immensely too 😭 in high school i didnt understand why my team's directors wouldnt ever let me do couple choreo (note: i was also the only minor on the team), learn their more adult pieces, or join in on certain concept videos with more explicit songs since as a teen i thought dancing was just dancing? but now that im well into my 20s im sooo thankful they did that. in the nyc/nj community dance scene there was a exposé a few years ago of all the predatory men in our circles, and it makes me think how i couldve been a victim to it if my directors werent protecting me. we really need to do more to take care of the kids who are putting all their trust in us to guide them through everything

YES TO THIS!!! I remember that the West coast was exposing some predators around that time as well!!! I am so thankful to your teachers for protecting you because even though some people think it's just dancing (I mean we are told that all the time that a lot of stuff "doesn't hurt anyone" so it's fine, but you and I both know it is NOT ok and does end up hurting some of the most vulnerable people involved!) I am also glad that I was hopefully able to talk about it in a way that wasn't placed as a "negative" to the overall performance because they REALLY did a great job!!!
