Sorry for the spam but also [before the release of their mini album] in an interview they said this is their fave song to perform. If you want to see how they do this while actually singing and such they do have a live stage video filmed for this with live vocals. Lastly i wanted to suggest performance that may not have been thought to be added to the marathon is watching a fancam of their remix/cover of 2ne1 i am the best. They did this as the concert opener for KCON LA day 2!

So first off, this was the B track for Shooting Star, yet it’s the song that has gotten more acclaim for sure. It entirely feels more laid back and I feel like they push themselves to do different types of dance constantly so maybe the relaxed lower beat is unknown territory. This felt more…like a hug than a punch, like their routines before this. I agree that it isn’t as clean, but it didn’t feel like it needed to be. Great wording there. Some notes I thought of. 1. You got almost everyone right except Juria and Maya. If you go off of hair, then after Mascara Juria ALWAYS has long bangs. 2. You were correct in that over time they have done better giving equal time to all of the members (rap line included) to have their moment. It wasn’t like that as much I feel with their first few songs. One thing that makes it hard to tell is that they can all sing. So background ad-libs and vocals can also be the rap line. For instance, Hinata doesn’t have any full lines of her own in Tippy Toes but the “ta-ta-ta-ta’s” are all her. 3. Some personal reflection I have about Jurin, again this is just how I feel. She is a leader of necessity (the documentary will explain this more). Her strength as their leader isn’t in what she provides, but the culmination of all of the strength and support poured into her by the other members. It drives her energy and gives her more confidence. They all have strengths to the whole and she embodies that. Her facial expressiveness and her moments are really above and beyond where I expect them to be every time I see them move as a group. I’m sure there are other things I was thinking, but I get so lost in your reactions. Thank you for another great one. I look forward to these so so much. I’m sure all of the Alphaz do. :)

Thanks for another great analysis! I do remember, when first watching both the MV and the dance practice for this that it was one of the first times (outside of the behind-the-scenes content) where you really felt them having fun - and it does make you like them more. I’ve never really followed a group that hated what they were doing (even just behind the scenes), but I’ve heard of such things, and it must be hard, both for the group and their fans. Left Right is the song that has had the most commercial success in America to date, actually getting enough radio airplay to make it to #27 on the Billboard Pop Airplay chart in May of this year. It was so nice to hear XG on the radio and in the top 40 countdown! The song also got a remix with Ciara and Jackson Wang - they even performed about a minute of the remix during Jackson Wang's set at Coachella this year with the original MV playing in the background. Member identification - Harvey - check! Jurin - check! Hinata - check! (As you noted, she usually has blonde/pink/light hair) Your first inclination that the black top with white stripes was Chisa was correct, and you go on to identify her for sure later - she did do the Galen Hooks solo. I appreciate the effort in going back and checking on Jurin having the first verse when explaining why you had identified her as the leader. And I’m so happy you feel comfortable to make guesses - no worries - and your intuitions have been spot on. A tidbit about Jurin you might like, in interviews the members have said she usually picks up the choreography first! https://youtu.be/djW_HjdBgZQ?si=OoZaUF-LylYTM_y3&t=44 People often have trouble separating Juria and Chisa as they are both main vocalists - I think that’s why the started giving Juria bangs from Mascara onward, whereas Chisa’s forehead is usually visible in the way they style her. Maya is tricky this time around because she’s wearing a hat and, at the spot you stopped to identify them, they were too far away for you to see their faces well. The point about the angles they make not seeming like something humans can do is so true I’ve probably watched that chorus choreo hundreds of times, but never thought about how they were achieving that effect. Very cool. I also like that little head-nod at the end. I agree that they do a great job of everyone getting a moment to shine, both in the choreography and in line distribution - especially since this Shooting Star comeback. “XG we certified” and the “ride or die” part of “Alpha alpha, we goin’ ride or die” are two lines I think you hear from Alphaz a lot. Totally agree on the realistic flex. As usual, enjoyed your analysis!

Thank YOU for always providing such great context to every song I do by them! It really means a lot!

Thank you for being so encouraging to me and allowing me to make guesses! I don't get to do this as often so it's really fun for me haha! I will try to get them all right this go around!
