I think that's almost everything! The only things I think you would be missing in terms of Choreography practices are: Cheers by the Leader Subunit, limbo and psycho by Jun, and Tiger by Hoshi. There are other dance performance videos by Minghao I think are must watches too but don't have practices (falling Down in particular) and Dino has a Danceology series for choreo that he has created and performs. Sometimes it's more budgeted dance videos and sometimes its practice room goodies. He has a solo coming out end of this month as well so look out for that! Thank you for all of this content! It's made my last couple weeks. Also somewhere on the internet lies a video of the choreographer discussing this himself while watching it if I can find it i'll link it later. Also i am moved you were so moved. It IS absolutely astounding that Seventeen put something like this out in their EIGHTH YEAR. Most groups dont even make it to their 8th year, much less to go THIS HARD on a choreo and concept of this level of difficulty. Also the full circle moment of the lyrics in this song using the folk hero Sonokong (also known as son goku if you are a fan of anime and can make the very intentional connection to Dragonball lol) to draw the connection to their journey of hard work and thanking their team and "crew" for getting them where they are today. And yeah there are many point choreography bits that draw directly from the lore of the monkey king AND dragonball. Riding on clouds, powerpoles, all the dancers operating like shadow clones, kamihameha hands, and fingers on the forehead being instant transmission.

Still have to catch up to the rest of the marathon but I wanted to start with this one because I love it so much. I'm so glad you understood the true significance of this comeback. Because yes, the number of people i impressive and the mythical superhero concept is cool etc... But this song is really a celebration of their journey and who/what helped them get this far. "I love my team, I love my crew. We already made it this far. I love my team, it's all thanks to you"

Jade V

A side note about their dancers. Seventeen has consistently used the same dance crews for many years for all their concerts and any performances that called for other dancers. Most of their male dancers are from Team Same (a crew founded by Seventeen's main choreographer Choi Youngjun) and most of their female dancers are from the Aura crew. Both crews (and Choi Youngjun) work on multiple other projects and groups besides SVT but they do seem to specifically make time to work on almost all of SVT's projects. They had to call on dancers outside of Team Same for this song though, you have dancers from 1Million, Just Jerk, YGX, C.A.P.T, etc in this. They also brought in Pledis' 2 other performance directors besides Yoon Hyelim (SVT's resident performance director). This whole performance was a big collaborative effort.

First of all, thank you so much for this whole marathon and for giving such detailed commentary on their work - this gave me such a new perspective on both how skilled they are and how human they are to still have mistakes. You marathoned all of their choreo and I binged all your reactions in like, two days, and I'd never watched all of it altogether like that before - I loved it so much! Secondly, I know you say you're not exactly a CARAT, you just have a strong admiration for their skill and work, but I think you've shown much more understanding and respect for them than many reactors out there who are self-declared "CARATs" after one or two videos. I started watching your videos because I was really curious about what you had to say after seeing your analysis of God of Music on YouTube and I'm so glad I did! Honestly, I think I'm a fan of YOU now!

Wow…. I literally don’t know what to say…. Your words hit so deep… and they are such an encouragement to the entire reason why I chose to start marathoning groups…. It’s members like you who truly make me feel so loved and supported through these journeys and it means the legit world to me that I was a respectful and positive addiction within the Seventeen world 😭 I know around 5-7 members now…. So I’m an above average “carrot” 😂😂

JessReacts764

I recognized some of them in this (barely because they were the size of ants 😂) and I love the fact they have dancers who have been a part for as long as they have (I noticed the ones specifically from the sub unit trio be VERY clean with those routines! )

JessReacts764

I’m so glad I didn’t just pick a couple of routines and watch and move on… I was deeply moved by this one😭

JessReacts764

I love the imagery so much. I was so moved… like to actual tears 😂 bless it they got to me 😂

Oh boy, I did not expect to get so emotional watching this one, but you hit the nail on the head. Seventeen have always been so good at bringing joy and fun. They add details wherever they can just because they think it would be something fans -or even themselves- will appreciate. Big or small, they are always elevating and going out of their way to make something truly special AND maintain their own identity within their catalogue. Through all of it you can feel the love and care that they have for their craft through the good times and the bad times. Like you said, it all comes down to their grit, their commitment to their art, and their loyalty to each other! The fact that they have maintained their relationships and their drive through over a decade (including their trainee period) and still are essentially making extravagant love letters to the ideas that they find important is so so impressive and inspiring! To be honest, this particular track hits me really hard, to the point where I haven’t even revisited as much as I typically would with seventeen. I think I had trouble processing it too. You may already know, but this comeback would become a tumultuous time for some of the members of seventeen, even if they didn’t know it yet while filming for the MV or dance practice. I’m so happy they have made it through and are going strong, but it gets me so emotional hearing them proclaim all of that triumph and unity in a song, especially with this caliber of performance. It really makes me wonder what might have been if it would have released a few days earlier, even if there’s no way to know if it would have changed anything. I also want to thank you for your commitment to this journey. I don’t know if you’d want to consider yourself a carat after this, but at the very least you understand us in a way that’s so validating to find from someone who lives and breathes dance like you do! I think it says a lot about seventeen that you took them on as your first journey from debut to present, and that they captivated you throughout the years. It seems like you still are interested in seeing them in different facets, which I am so looking forward to! Your expertise and your respect on this group has only taught me an even deeper appreciation for them and for dance as an art form, and I’m really glad to have chosen to join your Patreon to see it all happen real time!

I cried after reading this… thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words and support through this entire marathon. You guys truly made me feel a part of something more than just choreography and I will never take that for granted.

JessReacts764

If you don’t mind me asking, I’m not 100% sure as to what was happening around this time where they released this. I do know in a previous comeback, one of the members had a loved one pass away… I also know that S.coups is injured for God of music but there is some time between these.. if you’re comfortable sharing I would truly appreciate it ❤️

Of course, I apologize if it’s a bit heavy for this moment, but I know that you are aware of the passing of Moonbin from ASTRO. While we see things like this leave ripples in the industry and fandoms even outside of their groups anyways, Seungkwan and Moonbin were very close, they considered each other best friends. In terms of timing, it actually happened a few days before their comeback, and in the same month that Wonwoo’s mother had passed the year prior. Seungkwan had to take a good chunk of time off which I am so thankful he was able to do. It just makes my heart ache in a way to have seen only the pre-recorded content with him in it for most of this era. I know he’s got a good support system with seventeen, and I am also really proud of Seungkwan for finding the strength and courage to thank Moonbin and send him love when they accepted their Daesang for album of the year at the MAMA awards.

JessReacts764

Wow…. That is one of the hardest things to process…. I learned of his passing but not sure as to who all was really close with him outside of his members… thank you so much for sharing and I am so glad he was able to take time to grieve …

JessReacts764

I forgot to add this into my original comment to your feedback.. I may not really be a true Carat, but as long as I’m a positive addition in some way for those who support seventeen, I feel like I’ve done my best ❤️

I've really enjoyed watching you go on this journey and see Seventeen's growth over the years. Super really feels like the culmination and celebration of their journey and their career up to this point. They never give less than their all and it's so motivating and inspiring to watch every time. I knew about Seventeen when they debuted but was adamant I would never be a fan of theirs. Too many members and I wasn't big on the cutesy boy concept. Clap was the song that eventually made me really give them a shot and I have been thankful everyday since that I did. Now I think their size has really been an asset. The scenery, shapes, and things they can create in their choreography wouldn't be possible in a smaller group. Honestly, they are #1 for me in terms of choreo now. But I get emotional every time I think about Super for too long. haha 'I love my team. I love my crew.' Some people thought that part was corny when this came out, but to me it only ever felt 100% genuine. Seeing the same people stick by Seventeen for so long is really heartwarming. Seventeen didn't explode in popularity, they have steadily done better every single comeback to get to where they are. And it wouldn't have been possible without all the people supporting them from behind the scenes. I think it also says something about Seventeen that these people have continued to want to work with them even before they were big. Thank you for these reactions. They have allowed me to appreciate the artistry and hard work that has gone into Seventeen's discography even more than I did before. It's so fun to watch you get so excited over a step or move that I never even noticed before. Your passion for dance is so evident and infectious and I look forward to watching your other reactions!

Wow! Thank you so much for taking time to share your thoughts! It truly means a lot! I have a feeling Seventeen will be one of the groups that sticks deeply with me in the future for a couple of reasons. Firstly is because I am similar in age to most of the members so I feel the naturally generational connection and that makes me more comfortabe communicating more objectively about the things they do! Secondly, they were my first "marathon" I have ever done of a group and you can only have your "first" one time right haha! These reasons don't even include the best ones that you have done so well to articulate effectively here. Thank you once again for taking the time to watch my perspective through the eras of Seventeen. It truly means a lot!
