Jun and The8 are indeed chinese and they actually made this song to practice their Korean language skills. They first wrote the chinese version then adapted them to korean. The lyrics of the chinese and korean version answer to each other and can be interpreted as your past (or present) self talking to your present (or future) self and vice-versa. They also choreographed this themselves iirc hence the inclusion of chinese martial arts (both lf them have background in it).

Ah!! Thank you so much for covering this one! It sounds like you enjoyed it as much as I’d hoped! Jun and The8 (pronounced the-eight) are such talented performers and they love to perform this song when they get the chance to! The8 has talked about it being about one’s desire for their future self, and he actually was a competitive b-boy in childhood! Hopefully I didn’t confuse you on my suggestions, special unit songs are not Japanese tracks, but just ones where there is a different line up of members that the usual full group or 3 subunits. For example, they have an EP where they organized each track based on the year the members were born, making a 95’s song, a 96’s song (which I’m sure you’ll get to, it’s called Light a Flame), 97’s, and then the maknae song (98 and 99 liners)- all this to say seventeen likes to switch it up and we get great stuff out of it! So thankful for this series!
