Honestly, I also thought the dance and track had some disconnect between them so maybe the lack of afro influence was subtly the reason why I thought that way? It's still such a fun track and dance so it doesn't bother me that much either! Fun fact: This is kind of a turning point creatively for the group. Apparently, CUBE really didn't want this song to be released but Soyeon fought for it and told them that she would take full responsibility if it doesn't do well... and do well it did. After this, CUBE gave her way more leeway in creative decisions. (I still don't know the full timeline of her having creative control and then later executive control, but this was definitely an important internal turning point. 😅) Also, the member names you said were slightly incorrect: First, the name of the main dancer (short black hair in dance practice, the one looking at the vinyls in the MV in the beginning) is Soojin (not Soobin). Also, Yuqi is actually pronounced way more differently and I thought it was your way at first too. 😅 OK, I know nothing about phonetic marking so let me try it this way. It's like... the "y" sound is very minimal so it starts more like "oo", and the "qi" bit is pronounced more like "(g)i" (hah) but (g) like the g in gold. I think Yuqi’s name trips most people up because of how it’s pronounced. I learned how to pronounce it from a YouTube comment. It was explained to me that it was said (oo-gi). Which makes sense if you look at the hangeul for it 우기.
