the aoa performance made me cry when i first saw it 😭 knowing theyve been hypersexualized, slut shamed, etc even when the youngest members were literal teenagers, it felt like this performance was taking back their power in their image and sound. the remix was amazing too, tbh song wise this was the standout for me this round! i still listen to it

I feel like Lovelyz kind of shot themselves in the foot with their song choice here. I think it would have been better if they had challenged themselves by trying to do an Oh My Girl song in a fresh new way. From what I've seen in these kinds if shows, you tend to get really great performances when you force the groups to be creative and them being too comfortable can sometimes lead to them stagnating. I think the fact that Lovelyz didn't perform with the same level of vocal power as BEG also didn't help. If you're used to the original song the vocals here just don't pack the same punch and it makes it feel like it's missing something. It would be different if they arranged the track to suit their vocals better but they kept it mostly the same so it's pretty noticeable.

Hi, this is quite a late comment but I was just reminded of something after rewatching AOA's performance! I remember after their performance was aired, AOA's guest ballroom dancers actually got to perform a number on M Countdown and I used to be obsessed with it! I think it was the first time voguing was prominently featured on Korean TV (I could be wrong ofc). The group was called Kardashiba and they performed a song called "The Glow". The dancer with the high ponytail who did the dip was also in the demo of Kwon Eunbi's "Glitch" by Love Ran! But yeah I think most of them seemed like familiar faces especially due to the House of Love. I'm not sure if you would have time to react to the performance since you're busy and have a lot planned but in case you wanted to see something short but really fun! <3
