Awesome breakdown of the choreography!! I totally get being not 100% in on the song, I wasn’t at first but it really grew on me (my apologies if it is constantly stuck in your head after this) but I hear that their company is made up a lot of SM talent so I think their distinctive sound could absolutely have similar roots to those who made Red Velvet’s early tracks (it may be why I love them so much!) Their other songs are also incredibly produced, a little off kilter, and highly committed to very different concepts, so I hope you get to see more of them! And yes, they do have lore! Since this was their sort of viral hit that made a lot of buzz I thought it would be a good one to start! So I apologize because I do think there was a little bit of confusion on what the demo was- all the dancers apart from the 8th girl who finished out in the back on center were the members of Billlie! They just work really closely with their choreographers at 1MIL and filmed with one of the two choreographers they worked with at the studio (possibly in collaboration with a workshop?) so I was laughing to myself a little seeing you refer to them as the demo group- they are the very same ladies as the still cam! I think it showcases how they can be extremely clean while they focus on wide, far away shots, but can really bring the energy when they are orienting around a moving camera, putting a ton more emphasis on individuality and facial expression- Thank you for catching the choreographed facial expression shifts by the way! I also noticed you mentioned some confusion with the formation choices, especially instances where they split center despite being an odd number group- since they actually started as a 6 member group and added a seventh member I wouldn’t be surprised if they were altering the formations with her in mind. They actually have one choreo before this with her, but this is the first true comeback since she joined! I also thought it was interesting you found Tsuki’s solo section during the bridge to come across with some discomfort, especially since I hear a lot about her having experience with breaking, so I wonder if it could have just been an off-day for her! She does a great job on stage and is the one who’s fancam went viral for her execution of the different facial expressions shifting throughout the choreo! Thank you again for checking this one out and you definitely called attention to things that I never saw before even though I rewatch this choreo often! It really helped me understand why it is so engaging!

haha! They did look familiar but low key they looked like they were covering themselves haha! Never quite encountered this before but it made it so fun!! Thank you for the request and I think the confusion made it more interesting haha. Thank you also for the clarification with possible reasons as to why the choices were what they were! Makes way more sense and I really vibed with a lot of the choices throughout! Caught me off guard in a great way (like most things you request haha) Excited for the next ones!
