Love listening about your experience as a cleaner, and the importance of that role. Have you ever found when trying to correct or clean a certain section, that the dancer(s) were just not able to adapt to the correct way of doing the choreography? And what happens with that… do you have to negotiate a new path forward, or work with them until they absolutely have to get it? I always wonder if like, one dancer just can’t get something, what happens (good God, I would probably be THAT dancer, lol).

This is a fantastic question! So if the dancers aren't able to adapt, a lot of the time it depends on how much time you have to give them to get it. SOmetimes you just don't have the time to allow them the ability to refine it to where it needs to be and you have to adjust the chroreo to match what they need at the time, but it doesn't mean that the time you took to teach them what you gave them first doesn't have validity! If anything it helps them get exposure to new movement challenges that can be beneficial to them in the future! I also tend to know with a lot of my dancers on whether or not the choreo I give will be a "trouble spot" in the future, so I tend to keep those to a minimum to avoid changing TOO MUCH choreo too close to showtime. I hope this makes sense!
