As someone who doesn't really know much about dance, Seventeen's choreos are always fascinating and impressive to me!

What a lovely way to revisit/overview the Seventeen marathon! I know it always throws me because in music a canon simply refers to repeating a section, but repeating a section in different timings is often referred to as singing something “in a round” so I always have trouble with different terminology in this area of dance! Whenever anyone talks about seventeen’s numbers contributing to their formations I always think of TXT as a sort of counterpoint to their approach to setting up formations. I agree that they have very unique and creative formations with utility, but I notice that a lot of the time they use staging that reminds me of theater, where it can feel like a scene or a shape is being made to contribute to the concept. Especially in their earlier work (which I am admittedly more familiar with) I feel like TXT shows how a similar approach to formation works with five members! One of these days I’m going to send you a request for Crown! It was so nice to see you light up in seeing some of the old choreos from the marathon! Thanks for the awesome reaction!

I had such a fun time looking through these! Really takes me back haha! And I will be looking forward to your request in due time haha! Love it! Very interesting points regarding TXT! I have seen maybe 1 of their works analysis wise so they are pretty much a clean slate in my head which makes it fun to hear your points! Regarding Canon, it took me a HOT second to figure out the difference between a ripple and canon in dance, and the joy of doing these analysis is that is one main factor in why I forced myself to figure it out haha! I am still a student in the field of itemization between music terms, dance terms, and the overlap between the two so your perspective has motivated me to dive deeper and further into this segment of vocabulary extensively!
