I really liked this old format of auditions. Unlike in the future seasons, where auditions are kinda closed off or completely non-existent, here people are still allowed to move free and watch other streets' auditions. For example, when Meng Di got the last towel from Wang Yibo, the people who were pulling her into the group hug were waackers from all 4 streets who came to watch and support her. About the captains - this season is actually the first season where captains were expected to get hands-on with their dancing. In seasons 1&2, captain involvement was minimal, and they went back to that in S5 too. The reason is Lay - he originally wanted to join SDC3 as a contestant, not a captain, and he only agreed to be a captain if they allowed him to dance more. I love the change, because I love seeing my captains dance, but I do feel sorry for Wallace because he was 100% not expecting that from watching the previous seasons lol. Also, this season's episodes have a lot of blocked music, but for some reason, the Youtube clips of only performances don't have the music blocked. It's weird/ The next episode is gonna be epic! Can't wait for next week!

NEXT WEEK can't come soon enough!!! I love how they got to go street to street and I would have DIED to see Lay as a contestant! That's amazing and crazy to think about at the same time... Honestly I'm most impressed by Wang Yibo's progress as a dancer from this season and season 4 .. SUCH GROWTH! Very happy to see that!

Haven't really gone back to watch season 3 in a long time and wow so much of the music have been muted due to copyright D: you can tell this is the first season where they decided to upload to youtube and hadn't thought about that the issue too much. If I remember correctly Wallace was a bit of a last minute replacement this season after the scheduling not working out with multiple of the previous season captions. I'm not really too familiar with his songs but he's definitely the oldest and seems to be the least prepared. The cypher was a bit cringe for sure but still, props to him for giving his 100% ahaha

What's funny is I feel he was prepared for a "pre season 3" method, because I heard he was going off of what was the case in season's past which was the captains having a more "hands off" approach in terms of not physically getting involved as a dancer compared to this season and more. Can't wait to see his growth in this season honestly haha!
