KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR CHALLENGE final challenge

I think that the group with the best outfits of the entire program were the boyz, the eleven looked handsome and fancy, the stages of all the groups were very good and the best songs of the final were kingdom come by the boyz, the real by Ateez, show and prove by BTOB and I really liked the vibe of IKON and if you had difficulty searching for some presentations it was because the mnet channel was hacked and some presentations were deleted, I also forgot to add that 2 members of the boyz could not participate in the final due to problems health (younghoon who has been recovering from his back injury since monster and haknyeon due to back problems as well) it is equally understandable why they are the only group that has done 12 incredible stages since road to kingdom with difficult choreographies.

Wow we're already at the finale. I have so many things to say about Ateez's performance and their song here! In the full song of The Real (Kingdom track), Mingi's rap was included which meant that they were working on this song before his hiatus and we also heard its instrumental before at the end of Fireworks MV. After Kingdom another sneak peek appeared at the end of Eternal Sunshine MV. Then in December that year, Ateez had a comeback with The Real (Heung ver) as in fun/excited ver and Turbulence. The album had studio versions of all Kingdom tracks except for Rhythm Ta but with the inclusion of Mingi in those songs since he's back. Wonderland Symphony No9 in that album is the version we see them perform now! The song right before The Real starts here is actually 선도부 (The Leaders) which you read the text at the beginning. It's a b-side from the Fireworks album. If you want a translation for it, I'd say it's school prefects. They're similar to a student council but they check on students' discipline and also wear an armband like Ateez did here, which goes in context with the school setting and the song too. 선도 means to lead the right path, but it can also mean lead first. The message of The Real is the emphasis on humility and kindness, it picks on people who aren't humble. Ateez in the entire song are also pointing out on mannerisms/etiquette, following morals and sticking to your values, etc. Bullies or delinquents often lack these traits. The Real has a lot about Korean culture, most obvious one that you know are the dialects from the members' respective regions. San and Seonghwa from Gyeongsang province, Yunho from Jeollado, Wooyoung took his father's hometown Chungcheongdo and Jongho from Seoul (standard dialect) at the end. They decided to add Jongho's line for fun since he's the only one raised from Seoul in Ateez (All members are actually from different places in Korea). The apple part here made it at the end of the MV too! They had traditional props, dances, art/calligraphy and instruments in the song as well; I love how Ateez use this song to promote their own culture especially since they travel a lot overseas. San and Jongho's part with the frames on the wall are all displays of Ateez lyrics from Wonderland, My Way, Win and Answer. Then the rice field with chickens reflects Hongjoong's lyrics where he says 숙여라 익을수록 that refer to a korean idiom "the riper the rice plant, the more it lowers its head" meaning wise people show humility. Hongjoong often brings a traditional fan too for special performances and changes the message on the fan every time, Week 2 of Coachella he used it as a comeback spoiler writing "Golden Hour". You can see a close up of his fan here in the behind video it says "Welcome to my class". Yunho's bucket hat moments I'm pretty sure he's imitating the hermit crab meme from a kdrama. Near the end with the lion dances, the banner from the gourd says "Kingdomz you did well" in dialect and "Beef for dinner tonight" so Ateez were inviting the groups for dinner! Such a fun performance with a lot of meaning to it!

I am so freaking proud of this group. Not easy in the slightest on any of them nor the team surrounding them to pull something like this off. Really happy to see them perform a finale like this but I also know that it sucks to not have all of them engaging if choreographically for it, it may not have felt as much of a “finale” as it could have been , but I love that we got to see what we saw!

BEEF FOR DINNER! Sign me up!! Loved their performance here and all the fun gimmicks that were involved! Made me really happy to see and I also love all the spoilers they throw our way in the process haha 😂 this group has made me so happy to have been able to take a look at their discography and to see their growth during this time and where they are today. It feels like they still hold true to these principles and it brings me great joy to be able to support in the way!!! Real recognizes real!!
