SDC4 EP 10 PART 2

I feel so bad for Rochka; he just didn't have luck in his matchups to date for the battles. I thought Han Yu actually did some of his best battles rounds in this ep but like you said it wasn't quite enough vs the specialists in those dances. Think the captains did the right elims tho.

I'm happy you liked the choreography rounds in this episode! I still don't know how to feel about Yibo's team taking the round but I'm not nearly as shocked by it as I am with some of other questionable audience decisions lol. Your ranking is pretty much identical as mine for them. For the 7-to-smoke, yes, the Acky vs Rei round was weird. I always thought that it was my lack of popping knowledge that made me not see something in Acky's round, but I'm glad to have at least some validation in that one. For Ibuki vs Rei, though, I do agree with the result. Maybe I've seen too much of Ibuki, but that round of hers looked boring/repetitive to me. Maybe if it was some other waacker who did it, I would be fine, but it's the fact that it's Ibuki, who always defies expectations and goes above and beyond in all of her previous rounds, so when you see a round that's more average, it looks bad or like she lost steam? Next episode is gonna be great! The dancer who you really liked on S6 with Apple/Iris is in here too, I believe, with David/Keven and I think you'll really love their piece. If I can add one request (and it's perfectly okay if you don't get to it, I know your release schedule is packed to the brim), there's one song I think would be nice if you reacted to/analyzed before the finals. Lay released his song "Flying Apsaras" just before the finals, and he performs a portion of it with his team during the finals opening ceremony. The song was recorded/filmed before SDC4 started filming, and the choreographer for it was Huang Xiao. I don't think I need to tell you that it's peak Chinoiserie with both Huang Xiao and Lay involved. The song went under the radar internationally because the MV got scrapped (Lay wasn't happy about how it turned out filming-wise, they had issues with weather/sandstorms or something), but the dance practice and live performances are everything. The version at SDC4 finals is a bit differently structured than the original, so I think it would be nice if you had the original as a point of reference.

I can 100% agree with this as well.. Good calls for the captains but we all know it just sucks to have to send people home.. But at this point in time it looks like they aren't really going anywhere, but just not in the running in the show. Did I see the translation correctly?
