It was probably MNET's fault because ATEEZ wasn't the only ones doing promotions at this time. In one of the episodes, IKON says they were also doing promotions. Some of the members of ATEEZ were also finishing shooting their drama called Imitation which stars Yunho, Jungho, San and Seonghwa. KQ probably saw it as a great opportunity to reach the Korean audience as ATEEZ had only been debuted for 2 years when they first announced the show in 2020 and weren't that popular in Korea.

Here's a little bit of ATEEZ lore fun about this episode leading into the next just to lighten up the mood: This challenge was called "To the World" and ATEEZ used Dvorak's Symphony no. 9 called "From the New World" so ATEEZ called their performance "From the Wonderland." Next week the challenge is called "Re-born" you will see that ATEEZ called that performance "The Awakening of Summer." This was in 2021. That performance in particular is full of elements that at the time we had no idea would become so important but with the knowledge you now have, you should now be able to pick up on quite a bit of imagery and iconography from both their MVs and their most recent concert. Now, fast-forward to more than a year later, ATEEZ launches their new series of EPs called "The World" (*cough* the name of the first kingdom challenge) and accompanies this with two trailers – which you watched – called "The Awakening of Summer." ...Interesting! We've seen these words before... But not only that, they have a song on that first "The World" album called New World (as in..."From the New World"?) The order of the two performances is very deliberate; next week's performance is actually a prequel to the Wonderland performance. It's crazy to think of how intricately they teased their future comebacks and storyline in these performances and how intertwined their lore is with the kingdom stages. Some of it we might've not even picked up on yet because we haven't gotten there in the lore. This is why we have to revisit these performances and refer to them quite often actually. Also side note: They have a cryptic sentence that appeared at their concert prior to the Crazy Form comeback that said "The future from the Wonderland." Not sure what this means yet.

Right after filming this episode, Ateez didn’t even rest since they had to go for another music show promotion (on The Show) and they just went up without even fixing their makeup since they had no time to do so. Yeosang also had weekly emcee schedules on The Show throughout Kingdom but had to miss out on a few music shows. By this round, Yunho, Jongho, San and Seonghwa as well as Hwiyoung and Chani from SF9 were wrapping up filming the kdrama ‘Imitation’ which also involved learning new songs and choreography since it’s about the idol industry. Jongho, Hwiyoung and Chani were in the same (fictional) group and it was fun to see a little Ateez x SF9 collab! Yunho and Nayoung from I.O.I/Pristin had a lot of scenes together in the drama too. I’m not a fantasy or a melody but I’m pretty sure SF9 Rowoon started filming a drama around mid April after these two episodes aired, and you won’t see BTOB Changsub in a few episodes because he fell sick and was also practicing for a musical. Kingdom was really harsh on all the groups but the upside is that we did get to see a lot of legendary stages from this show and a lot of interactions between groups.

HOKAY. SO. BTOB was pretty much left alone by Cube - they did do the majority of the work themselves because a) Cube is lazy and b) it's what they've always done. You have to remember that BTOB is *entirely* self produced (aside from a few songs here and there and Minhyuk doesn't do arrangements) but they worked with the dancers and the movement director extensively. Cube has been hands off on BTOB since 2015 because they got better results from doing so. BTOB did have behind the scenes stuff - it's on their Beatcom series where they show WAY more of what Minhyuk planned to do and how hard he worked at it (like there was literal burns and blood) but ultimately had to do what he did because of his back, and what they were all doing behind the scenes (like Changsub was also performing in a musical at this time which is why he got sick right before they did Back Door) - it's just Mnet likes to pick and choose. (like normal)

Mnet is the legit worst….. like it feels like the more drama that is ensued as a result of editing, the bigger the bonus the editors get 😭😂 BLESS IT… and I appreciate the fact Cube was hands off because we get some incredible work from BTOB as a result!

YO! So this is actually a funny story haha. So while I was in Korea, I stayed in an airbnb where they had this mug. I LOVED it so much I sent a message to the owner of the space asking if I could buy it from them and low and behold they ordered one for me and told me to just leave cash haha! So I got it in korea!
