If I remember correctly 3 of the groups were kind of force to be there. But their commitment will improve as the show goes

ooooh! Really? I am so intrigued on who those groups are? iKON, Stray Kidz, and sf9 give off those vibes but I have ben wrong many a times before! Honestly my gut just thinks iKON for now but who knows?

Overall the groups will sing live way more here than in RTK due to the criticism RTK got regarding it. i believe most RTK groups were proficient in singing live if they want to (ONF for example has been on immortal songs multiple times if that tells you anything hahaha) but I'm not sure if it was a decision made by the groups, the companies, or mnet itself. part of me leans towards mnet since they were happy to turn on the mics so we could hear the exhausted breathing lol Something you will notice in future episodes: Stray Kids will be down a member due to a scandal that forced one member to pull out of the show :/ so he's only in the 1st ep and you barely see him due to the editing, but if you notice them go from 8 to 7 thats why. One of the TVXQ members also pulls out as an MC due to a different scandal. I hope this isn't considered spoilers since its not related to rankings and stuff, I'm not sure if they even acknowledge it on camera. based on rumors, mnet had a hard time casting for this show, they had The Boyz, Ateez, and Stray Kids do a joint performance at 2020 MAMA as a teaser, but there were a lot of rumors about casting outside of those groups. I think maybe aside from the time commitment of the show, the reward (an mnet-aired variety show) wasn't that enticing. I remember reading they tried to get Monsta X but they didn't want to lol. The general public also doesn't tune into BG shows like this as much as they did Queendom, so I'm sure many groups felt like the potential exposure wouldn't really be worth it? a ton of logistics we won't ever know the details of. omg I have been ITCHING to get to this. I have been so bummed that I've been in the middle of a personal project and haven't been able to catch this in real time. Okay my duty as a Melody - BTOB are absolutely known as a ballad/live singing group. They pick up a few things from the show in the terms of performance aspects. Beautiful Pain came out in 2018 and it was the only title track where Eunkwang was missing. (But the actual song/MV might as well stab you in the heart lol) And let me tell you - Melos were like WTF HOW IS THIS GOING TO WORK since BTOB are so strong at their live singing while everyone else is far more known for performing. Dead ass everyone was expecting BTOB to be bottom of the pile because they don't do "performing." The only thing that made Kingdom bearable is the fact that BTOB was there and Eunkwang didn't play with Mnet's "legendary war" thing. He went legendary war? MORE LIKE LEGENDARY FRIENDS YAY MORE FRIENDS. I have to agree so many of the intro performances were underwhelming - like everyone was given incomplete information on what was being expected, or like this was a test they didn't study for.

I would give them more slack if RTK didn't exist but IT'S BEEN HERE so it's hard to give them a pass.. I will say BTOB is KILLING ME and I am HERE for it with every excerpt they have... I love those rebels haha

They are absolute dorks - Kingdom is what made me fall for them because I was loving their interactions with everyone (and that was before Minhyuk decided to once again be BTOB's primary stripper in Back Door lol) and Mayfly just tipped me over.

I was fortunate to have seen a couple of their works (LALALA and MEGAVERSE) but seeing them as a group group I agree that this was a fun intro!!
