Fukami (How he looked long ago)

His full real name is Fukamizuki (written with the kanji 深三月), the third of 8 brothers.

He was a wild guy, jumping into every single fight that anyone picked with him.

He came from an ocean a bit far from the Sea Kingdom, but he just happened to meet Wadanohara (as well as Memoka and Dolpi) when he was in an area nearby.

Memoka was an acquaintance of his already, so she introduced Fukami to the others.

*After Samekichi disappeared, the others became Wadanohara’s familiars in this order: Memoka, Dolpi, Fukami.

While they chatted about all sorts of topics, Memoka threw out a suggestion. “Oh, I know! Wadacchi, how about you make Fukamin into one of your familiars too? He seems kinda rough around the edges, but I’m sure he’d make a great bodyguard! Probly!”

At this time, Fukami wasn’t so keen on the idea. “You’re telling me that this little brat is the Witch of the Sea……? What could possibly be so special about this little girl?” However, he was in Memoca’s debt, so he reluctantly agreed to stay with them for a “trial period.”

*Tatsumiya-san was shocked when she saw Wadanohara bringing back a huge octopus with a scary face out of the blue.

At first, Fukami saw Wadanohara as just a run-of-the-mill brat to look down on. But Wadanohara’s nature was far too innocent, and much too honest. Slowly, it began to charm him.

And at long last, struck by the dignified and elegant beauty of Wadanohara as a witch, he came to see her in a new light.

“Fine. I’ll become your familiar, Wadanohara. As for me, well… You can call me just ‘Fukami.’”

*At first, she had been addressing him with his full name and honorifics, or “Fukamizuki-san.”

Following that, he continued to spend time with her as both guard and familiar, his own feelings gradually developing into the hazy beginnings of affection.

*He cut his hair when he made his decision to be Wadanohara’s familiar, and he also changed his outfit to something much more crisp and orderly to better match her look.

This is an episode that I had originally been sitting on since I wanted to make it into a comic, but since that’s kind of, well, you know—I decided to write it up here. I’d like to put it into the Sea of Death (ebook version) or as a special bonus comic to a new edition of the book.

By the way, after Samekichi’s return, that former roughness of Fukami’s seems to have disappeared… or at least, just at face value. If something makes him snap, he’ll beat down enemies so thoroughly that there isn’t even a spot of unbloodied skin left. He’s stronger than before too. Crazy!

As for how he does with Samekichi, it’s hard to say whether they’ve gotten closer or not, but they’ll sometimes have drinks together. (Samekichi can’t hold even a single drink, so he just has juice.)

It’s easy to think that I’ve drawn everything I can for Wadanohara, but there’s honestly a ton of background information and episodes that I’ve never released… (People probably think that because the story itself ties up everything in a single game)

I want to draw it all…… My work never ends……（´；ω；｀）Can I cry……?
